Assignment on Statement of Purpose in Global Market and Local Creativities master

           This statement of purpose is written to shed light upon my education, experiences, and interest in the selected graduation program. In this statement, I have presented detailed information regarding my-self that will help you in evaluating my educational as well as work skills and expertise for admission in this selected program. Currently, I am an undergraduate hard-working and talented student with expertise in the relevant areas of study. I have recently completed my undergraduate studies in “Business Studies program” from a well-recognized educational institute “Name of Institute” of Thailand with “grades or percentage”. Now, being an undergraduate student, I am passionate to find a position for postgraduate studies in Global Market and Local Creativities Master. Therefore, I have applied for this study program.

              Globalization is enhanced in the world with improvement in the world of business and expansion in the trend of international business. International business trend and advancement of technology have turned the whole world in a global market in which all countries are interconnected for the supply and trade of various goods, commodities, services, and other products. Modern countries are promoting global trade and international business for the stability of economic condition and betterment in the per capita GDP of the country. In my views, globalization is highly important in our society as the development and progress of our society also get influence from an increase or decrease in the trend of globalization. Particularly, Thailand (my hometown) is taking interest in globalization by opening its markets for foreign traders and making contracts with multi-national companies for expansion in import and export related business activities. According to recent research, Thailand is a second substantial economy in Southeast Asia.

       Considering the importance of globalization and international businesses for the social and economic development of my country, I am interested to study globalization and concerning issues in my post-graduation program. In my opinion, globalization is the most suitable topic to study in a master’s course for a person who wants to contribute in the development of his country by actively participating in the international trade and business. My masters in this program can bring many benefits and advantages to me as well as to my country Thailand.

        Elaborating on my family background, I was born in an entrepreneurial family. My parents and other relatives are operating in local as well as global markets with a distinctive product and services portfolio. My mother has a chain of a family restaurant in the local market of Thailand. While my sister is also actively working as an entrepreneur for some innovative product’s production and supply in both the local and international market. From the business of my sister and my mother, I learned how entrepreneurs work in the increasingly global market to survive against challenges and take advantage of market expansion. For instance, my sister took advantage of flourishing global economy by expanding her clothing business to foreign countries such as England. Having such a business-oriented family, I grew in a business-focused house. Being surrounded by entrepreneurs since a very young age I had experienced tremendous positive effects on my mental growth and development. From my childhood, I ever fascinated entrepreneurs and successful businessman around the world. Since childhood, I was curious about how industries ride the wave of globalization to bring forth their products and expand the operational market. I took interest in the success stories of struggling entrepreneurs of past times who later on succeed in various industries and fields of life.

        Other than, academic studies I also read a number of books relevant to the business world and modern practices of multinational companies to remain competitive against different risk factors and market challenges. I have also read a book written on the success story of Steve Jobs regarding Apple Inc. Apple Inc. is the one fine example of a multi-national company that contributed to enhancing globalization by establishing business units in several countries over the globe. Under an estimation, Apple Inc has more than 740 million subscribers that make it world largest mobile carrier. Based on my knowledge about globalization and related challenges I understand the complexities of the global market faced by this multi-national company. Although, I fascinate and admire successful business management of Apple Inc. In fact, my association with Apple Inc. and interest in globalization management encouraged me to apply for admission in this study program and gain more knowledge in this area. I am passionate and willing to study globalization as well as local market challenges caused by globalization in my masters with the aim to fulfil my dreams of being a successful entrepreneur in future.  

      During this Global market and Local Creativities master’s program, I want to conduct primary research on my selected topic of Local and global economy, business in the globalization context. I am interested to identify various factors linked with globalization that bring influence for local and global economic conditions of Thailand. I have studied books on macro-economics and microeconomics that increased my knowledge regarding the globalization of businesses and changes caused by the globalization in terms of finance, economics, and workplace ethics. Based on this knowledge, I am familiar with the critical role of globalization for the global and local economy. I understand, how macro-economic and micro-economic environment of a country get changes when globalization increases in its local industries. Moreover, how unemployment, spending behaviour of consumers, purchasing capabilities, per capita income, and inflation rate fluctuate in an economy because of globalization are concerning points for me to conduct research. In my master’s thesis, I also want to learn the benefit and advantages linked with enhance in the globalization trend. How the labour market get influence? How workplace conflicts increases because of globalization? What strategies are required to be followed by a multi-national company to deal with globalization related issues?

           Apart from all these, I have also worked side by side my mother and sister in my free time during undergraduate study program to learn practical knowledge about business strategies and activities. My work experience enhanced my knowledge and skills in business management. I learned how managers communicate and make decisions regarding resources utilization and diverse labour management while considering individual and cultural differences. Moreover, I practically learned how a local entrepreneur enters in a global market and earn success with strong and effective business strategies. I have worked on business documents as well as sales recording system in my family restaurant that polished my skills of problem-solving, effective communication, and effective decision making. I am sure that my skills and experience gained at this restaurant business will give me a competitive advantage during this selected study program by helping me to understand complex theories and concepts easily while relating it with practical examples.

          Conclusively, while taking into consideration, my skills, knowledge, work experiences, and educational background I am confident that I can show outstanding performance in this study program. My passion and interest will support me to achieve good grades and pursue my career in entrepreneurship with a focus on globalization. This program of study will benefit me to accomplish my goals regarding a future career as it will enhance my knowledge and expertise for a bright future ahead.
