Transformation
rule is a kind of rule that helps in the transformation of syntactic structure,
before going further let’s have a clear idea what does this syntactic structure
means (It is the study of different rules where different kind of the words or
elements of the sentence structure are being combined with one another to make
the grammatical sentences). Deletion, insertion and movement are some of the
basic instances of these transformational rules. In a Basic English language,
we all know that to understand about the sentence structure it is very essential
that one must have a general understanding of all the types of words that are
required to make up a complete sentence. Any basic or simple sentence in
English Language mainly consists of three of the basic parts and they are Subject
+ Verb + Object. There are many students who simply translate the sentences
that are present in other languages like سعدت بلقائك and it means that “I am pleased to
meet you”. There are very few people who keep the sentence structure same by
following all of the rules accordingly. Grammar needs to be correct as well
because otherwise no one would understand the meaning of sentence. So keeping
the sentence structure correct and following all the rules and grammar things
accurate are very essential. One should be careful about the duplicating the
Arabic sentence structure as well.
Now coming towards the two different
categories of Transformation, they are:
·
Rigid transformation, it is the kind of
transformation which don’t change the size or even shape of the 1-preimage.
·
Non-rigid transformation is the kind of
transformation that definitely will change the size but it won’t affect the
shape 2 of the preimage.
Moving
further towards the types of these rigid and non-rigid transformation, there
are further four types. Out of four types, three are the ones that falls in the
rigid transformation category and the other one falls in the non-rigid
transformation category.
Interrogative
and Imperative word should not be new here because we are going to discuss some
of the things about both of these types. Questions that we see or come across
on daily basis are in the interrogative form. A very important feature of the
interrogative sentences is the normally they have a subject in them that comes
directly after the auxiliary verb.
Example of this type is, Did you take your vitamin this morning?
Coming
towards the Imperative sentences, they are completely different from the
interrogative sentences because in interrogative sentences person asks a
question but in Imperative sentences, order or command is being given to the
next person. It has a subject in it and that subject is clearly understood to
be you. Commands that are being given or used in the sentences sometimes sound
to be so impatient and rude that it may hurt the feelings of other person.
Example of imperative sentence is, Go
out of my room right now!
By
using the transformational rules we can easily change the structure of sentence
from the interrogative sentence into the assertive sentence. Assertive
sentences are most commonly used in the English language. These are the
sentences that are being used to assert or declare any feeling, statement,
history or anything. Assertive sentences end with the period.
Examples:
·
Is chocolate better than a cake? Interrogative sentence
Chocolate
is way better than a cake. Assertive
sentence.
·
Why to get worried when God is here? Interrogative sentence.
It
is completely foolish to get worried when God is with us. Assertive sentence.
Another
type is that imperative sentences can also be changed in the interrogative
sentences by using some of the rules. One should always try least to use the
imperative sentences because I believe these sentences become bitter and they
hurt the feelings of other people so easily that it is better to avoid them as
much as possible. No one in this world likes to take orders and the other
person should also be careful about it.
Examples:
·
Shut the door. Imperative sentence.
Will
you shut the door? Interrogative
sentence.
·
Open this bottle. Imperative sentence.
Will
you open this bottle? Interrogative sentence.
See
the difference how better it looks when imperative sentences are being changed
into the interrogative ones. It seems so nice and without even hurting anyone
you can ask others to help you. There is always a way and when rules are being
used in a proper way things become really different and easy as well.
According
to me it is very important for all the learners to learn the grammar rules and
use them appropriately. Only learning should not be part of the play but
applying them correctly in the sentences is something more productive. So
always try to use the proper rules and follow them appropriately to make the
sentence structure correct. If you know all the rules but you have no idea that
how to use them and where to use them, according to me you know nothing about
the rules so all of these two things go parallel and side by side.
Some more examples of Arabic
sentences:
أين
أنتي؟ = Where are you?
إلى
اللقاء قريبًا! = See you soon!
