MOBILE MARKETING

            Mobile marketing is gaining popularity in recent times. It is transforming the way people engage with brands. Everything that you can do on your desktop computer or laptop can be done now on mobile devices. You can now easily read your emails, visit your favourite website and shop online. You can all do this on a small screen on your smartphone. It is estimated that 80% of users own a smartphone. Most of these users are consuming digital media. Google is also that trend of searching on mobile is increasing day by day (Marrs, 2019)

            Mobile marketing is an advertising strategy in which companies promote their products and services by using the large smartphone customer base and targets them directly. Mobile marketing takes advantage of the advance features found in smartphones such as GPS location tracking to personalize the information they need at the right place and at the right time. If you’re not taking advantage of this marketing strategy, you’re losing your potential customers. Mobile marketing strategy not just targets customers by location, it also considers their shopping behaviour, their taste and what brand they most interested in. It is essentially customized to your needs and acts as your digital personal shopping buddy (Blair, 2020)

            People usually carry around their smartphone wherever they go. It opens opportunity to target customer and offer services are near to his location. Mobile marketing campaigns are customized according to the individual needs. It assesses the data on mobile apps and learns the buying behaviour of the consumer and shows them related content. There are although some privacy concerns of customers that their data is being collected without their consent and the companies have no right to collect their data without their consent. Companies are now being careful and tell users when they are collecting data or asks for the permission of the user before collecting data (Marrs, 2019)

            Although digital marketing existed long before mobile marketing, people used to click adds on their laptops and desktops which were customized according to their browsing behaviour. Now that everyone has smartphones and tablets mobile marketing has transformed the digital marketing space. Now you have this large customer base which you can reach and sell your products. This technology has enabled businesses to reach their target audience more effectively. It is easier to target mobile users because they have their smartphones with them all the time. Large number of population access internet with their mobiles and tablets. They use it for social media and online shopping (Meyer, 2017). Here are some reasons you should incorporate this activity into digital marketing campaign:

            Walmart is one of the largest retailers of grocery items in the United States. It operates hyper stores and discount department stores on multiple locations in US. It can greatly benefit from implementing a mobile marketing strategy into its business model (FARFAN, 2019).

            In today’s fast day and age when people have less time to go to shopping malls to stroll through number of shops and find their required product. You can give them quick access to the product or service they require by using mobile marketing. A company can easily reach its customers through mobile marketing. Customer can also respond easily due to quick access to your services on mobile. They can also give you feedback on your products and services (Burçak & Oztas, 2015).

Digital Lifestyle of Mobile Marketing

            Smartphones and mobile devices have become essential part of customers daily life routine. They spent most of their times on mobile phone. This makes a great opportunity for companies to target customers based on their daily routine and customizing the services accordingly (Burçak & Oztas, 2015).

            In recent times ecommerce has seen a tremendous growth. People now prefer two buy things online as opposed to going into shopping malls. It is hassle free and saves them time. Large number of customers uses their smartphones to buy products online. This enables businesses to target customers by learning their shopping behaviour online and show them what they need.

SMS Marketing

            SMS Marketing is another way you can reach your target audience. You can target millions of customers by directly sending them SMS on their devices.

Mobile Search Index

            Mobile search index is another reason you should incorporate digital marketing strategy. Google allows your website higher based on mobile searches which make you appear higher in Google searches (Randolph, 2018).

            Walmart can reach a broader audience by using mobile marketing. They can now target every mobile and tablet users and identify their daily grocery needs (Powell, 2020)

            Walmart can target its customers by showing them customized adds relating to their needs. It can collect data of customer behaviour and inform them when their grocery shopping is due, and they can know beforehand to pick up groceries in time.

QR Codes of Mobile Marketing

            By implementing QR code technology in their app the company can make buying grocery for their customers hassle free. They can just scan QR code and pay the bills.

Conclusion of Mobile Marketing

            In conclusion by implementing the mobile marketing strategy the company can create a deep relationship with its customers and it can build long term relationship with them by providing customized services according to their needs.
