Being
a manager of the customer service department, I have been given the
responsibility to hire the new general customer service workers for my
department. Traits and skills which I want the applicant to have or possess
are:
1. Very
first skills is the way of communication, it is the process that matters a lot
and applicant needs to speak in a well-mannered and well-organized way to make
sure all of the customers are satisfied and they don’t get to have any
complaint or demand. This covers the verbal as well as the written
communication along with listening too. This is about getting concise, focused
and clear what the customers want or demand. (Pahkasalo, 2019)
2. Applicant
should have all of the information regarding commercial awareness. This is the
point that tells that how any of the business or an industry works and what are
the points that make a company tick. Applicant needs to show that he or she has
a better understanding regarding the requirements of an organization or what
are the goals which they want to achieve by the help of different services and
products along with the fact that how they compete in the marketplace.
3. Teamwork
should be another skill that need to be present in the applicant. There are
very less people who feel completely comfortable while working in team as it
requires a lot of compromise. He or she for sure needs to prove that one is a
team player but they do have the ability to manage as well as delegate to the
other people and to have a responsibility on their shoulders or in their hands.
This is related to the building up the positive working relationship which
helps each and every person to achieve all of their goals along with the business
objective too.
4. Persuasion
and Negotiation are the skills that helps in being the applicant to set out
what and how they want to achieve or should achieve. But here they also need to
understand that from where the next or other person or applicant is coming from
so that both of them can get what they want along with the positive feels.
5. Applicant
need to show up the ability to take up an analytical as well as the logical
approach towards problem solving and the resolving of different issues in a
balanced and appropriate way. This is also a very good to show up that one can
approach to solve out the problems from different scenario or angles. (Bermont, 2004)
6. Applicant
need to have a potential to motivate others along with achieving their own
goals and objectives side by side. This is about assigning the tasks in an
appropriate way along with delegating all the tasks in an appropriate wat,
setting up for the deadlines and be a good example for other employees working
in an organization.
