Facebook Inc. is among the most
famous social media platforms. Facebook Inc. is specifically concerned with the
privacy of its users (clients) and employees working at the organization.
Company has developed email and internet use policies for employees in the
organization which relates to the following topics.
1)
Business Use Only: According to the
company's policy, employees are obliged to use all organizational information and
resources within the Facebook organization only. Company’s email and internet
should be only used by the company’s employees. Moreover, employees are strictly
prohibited to share company’s emails and internet services with any external
and irrelevant person unless permission is granted by the company.
2)
Privacy: Facebook Inc. collects data from
its clients that are mainly available at public access (likes, posts, and other
updates). However, the company is strictly focused on the privacy of the
client's data obtaining the sensitive type of information (passwords, bank
details, and mobile numbers). Employees working in the organization are
required to consider the privacy and security of these kinds of information as
well as sensitive information of Facebook Inc. (programming code, future plans,
and financial details). Therefore, while using emails and internet employees
are required to ensure the privacy policy of the company to avoid corporate
actions against their employment status. Moreover, employees are not allowed to
provide internet passwords to their social circles and any other person to
fulfil privacy policy (Work.facebook.com, 2020).

Reasonable Personal Use: Facebook Inc. allows
its employees to use the internet and emails for reasonable performance
purpose. However, such actions should be according to the allowed conditions
only. Official data, official internet, and official emails are the intangible
assets of the company therefore unreasonable use of these assets for personal
purposes is strictly banned at the workplace of Facebook Inc. For instance, employees
are not permitted to share discriminatory, threatening, and harassing content
with any person belonging to or not belonging to any institute or organization
which as professional relationship with Facebook Inc. For instance, suppliers, contracted companies, financial
institutes (e.g. Stock Market and Banks). While communicating with external and
internal parties using official emails and internet employees cannot share such
unreasonable content because of personal reasons.

Security Policy: Employees are
responsible to work according to the security policies developed for the use of
the internet and emails. For instance, employees cannot download malicious software
or driver in the company’s computer while using the company's email address and
the internet. Such malicious software can raise threats for the information
security system of the company by paving paths for external attacks and
third-party access (Facebook.com, 2020).
5)
Unlawful Activity Prohibited: Employees
sometimes get involved in the unlawful activities (e.g. bullying, cybercrime,
manipulation of financial information and attempting to hack devices) by using
the official emails and internet which can raise issues for the company's
reputation. Considering this, Facebook Inc. has the policy about unlawful
activity prohibition that enable them to control such activities at the
workplace and keep company' reputation safe (Sec.gov, 2018).
