During my training I cooperated with other departments and confronted
many challenges and problems related to the tasks that were assigned to me.
Challenge 1 of Al Abeer medical group
The first challenge that I faced was
no one was taking me seriously and ignoring me all the time. They treated me as
a burden and were not interested in teaching me.
How I handled this situation:
I’ve handled this
situation with positivity and always kept my cool. I’ve respected my seniors
and whenever I get the chance, I ask them questions and take notes which
attracted their attention and they started to realize that I am willing to work
and after that they started treating me fairly.
Problem of Al Abeer medical group:
During my time at
Medical file Management department I’ve come to realize that the files were not
managed properly. Whenever we send new files to them, they come back with missing
papers and are not properly maintained. It is also not the duty of Medical file
management to organize these files and manage them.
Proposed Solution: By sending the files via software in soft form
to make they system faster for both ends.
Challenge 2
During my time as a trainee I’ve
come to realize that it was very difficult for me to find a mentor who can
train and teach me. It was one of the busiest hospital and the challenge was to
complete the task given to me without proper understanding of the task and
every morning when I go to the hospital I was worried that I may do something
wrong or not according to the task assigned to me.
How I handled it:
To tackle this
difficult situation, I started observing the hospital employees and how the
work and whenever I get the chance, I asked them questions and tried to adapt
to the situation as quickly as possible.
Problem:
The filing was mostly done manually,
and the software used for exchanging files was not up to date and hardware that
they were using was old and was not suitable for the file management.
Proposed Solution of Al Abeer medical group:
Using latest software that
integrates with all the departments to make the communication and sharing files
easy and leaves no room for errors.
Challenge 3 of Al Abeer medical group
Another challenge that I faced was
most of the people that I worked with were male and they were all aged and old
fashioned and I didn’t feel comfortable working with them. The thought that I
can’t be an accountant being a girl and always criticized me for that. Also due
to our language barrier and different accents it was difficult to understand
each other and keep up with the tasks.
How I handled it of Al Abeer medical group:
I handled this situation with
patience and acted professionally. Whenever I felt that they were crossing the
line I asked them politely that I am not comfortable talking about this topic.
