9. Summary
of qualitative research in terms of management and control system of knowledge
and real-world understandings of the super retail group of Australia
In the summary of case study, the selected company is
the Super Retail Group which has more than 670 stores across Australia, New
Zealand as well as China. The study is providing brief information of the
company how it is the providing its services, who are the stakeholders of the
company, what external factors can affect the profitability of the company as
well some action controls are also discussed in this study. It was important to
understand how the company is doing with its management and control system of
knowledge, as well as, real-world understanding of their retail business. To
keep things in context, the vision and mission of the company were also
analysed to get its core values which the company uses to conduct its business
activities. It was found that core values followed by the company are its
passion, openness, care, integrity, as well as discipline. After analysing the
corporate governance structure of the company, it was concluded that the
company is consisting of several executives and non-executive corporate
managers. These managers have different work responsibilities in the
organization.
It is
also important to mention here that all employees, as well as, the managerial
staff of the company are strictly controlled by the corporate managerial
strategies adopted after a lot of planning and thought processes. The company
is having a variety of famous brands, which are giving them a competitive
advantage. After analysing all the elements associated with the products and
services, it can be concluded that products and services currently offered by
the company have a good reputation in the market. The company is also enjoying
good terms with all the stakeholders, keeping things in the right direction.
The management controls used by the company have been proving effective. The
same is the case with its action control, as well as, cultural controls. If the
company continues to have these controls in this manner, then it can be said
that they will have a better MCS design to get things going to achieve its
strategic goals and objectives. There are no major issues identified for Super
Retail Group, and if they make little changes with their strategy, then they
can have more success in the future.
