Although working
from home and studying from home appear to be similar to each other, they are
quite different and they have unique challenges to them.
Working from Home: In
general, working from home means using computers, laptops, and other devices
for telecommuting. It is quite different from studying using the same devices
in the sense that working requires a person to effectively devise a schedule
according to which he must work.
Working from home
is similar to working from office because a person has to meet deadlines and be
online at a specific time. The only drawback is that people do not get the
environment of office. The same does not apply when a person is studying from
home. When it comes to working from home, a person is not prone to distractions
because he knows about the deliverables and their importance.
This, however,
changes when a person is not bound by a formal structure. For instance, if a
person is not working for a firm and he is just freelancing then the same
conditions as studying from home apply to him. The only exception is the tough
deadline that must be met.
Studying from Home: The
major difference between studying from home and working from home is that when
a person is studying, he has no schedule. Since the deadlines of assignments
are long, students do not need to create proper and strict schedules.
They can relax and
study at a speed which they desire. Additionally, students are more prone to
distractions because since they do not have to meet tough deadlines, they have
the necessary time to visit other websites or browse the content they require.
Although studying from home is easier than working from home, it is important
to note that students are more prone to distractions. Still, they have the
advantage of studying at a pace which they desire. For instance, they can study
for an hour and then they can relax for an hour. The same cannot be said when a
person is working from home because he must be active within the duty hours.
