As an early childhood education teacher,
I think that trend of family diversity is very important to understand the
delivery of effective and successful educational services. Children of early education
come from different types of family backgrounds which creates family diversity
in the classrooms. For instance, students in an early education classroom can
be from different races (e.g. white, Asian, and Hispanic), culture, religion and
social norms. Moreover, sometimes family diversity can be also caused by a
difference in the primary languages of students. Because of this family
diversity children sometimes face issues to adjust in the classrooms and
learning their courses. Additionally, family diversity also influences the learning
behaviour and social interaction behaviour of students in a fully diverse
classroom.
The trend of family diversity can
play a major role to provide prime responsibility towards mother children. Furthermore,
family diversity is important because it give awareness and encourage people to
become more patient as well as accept others. Considering these facts, I would
say, such kind of family diversity should be taken into consideration by early
childhood education teachers to understand the behaviour of children from the
different family background. Furthermore, understanding such differences and
diversity teachers can better understand how they can reduce learning
challenges for students caused by this family diversity. For instance, a
student of early education belonging to an Asian family will have issues to
understand the culture of American people and their languages (if he/she is not
fully familiar with the English language). Such a situation will create
difficulties for him/her to be responsive student, properly interact with other
students, and show a better level of understanding towards course taught in
English. Thus, in my opinion, the teacher can support such students in learning
and getting adjustment by understanding their family diversity (RADU,
2020; Sheldon & Turner-Vorbeck, 2019).
