In many organizations’ diversity plays important role to make the work inclusive and diverse in nature. The significant impact of diversity in the industries is evident from the success of industries when compared to the previous levels. The cultural diversity provides wide range of benefits to the organizations as different employees from different regions have certain knowledge skills and employability skills. The sharing of diverse knowledge and skills in the workplace improves ability of workers to have efficient work (Al-Bayati, Abudayyeh, & Ahmed, 2017). The aim of present work is to define diversity training and its impact on the success of organizations. The other consideration in the present work is to formulate the diversity plan and to define its impact on the organization.  In the present work, the lack of diversity for some industries in GCC countries is also considered. The explanation is effective to mention the executive actions and to improve diversity in the organization. The effective diversity training programs are also analyzed in the present work to point out some effective strategies used in the GCC countries for progress.

Can organization train diversity?

Ans. Diversification is very important for every organization as it is very important for organization to look more inclusive and diverse workplace. Diversity means that differences that are face by the individuals in the organization and performing very well. Diversity include that how the other people perceive them with their new differences. In the organization different type of diversity can occur like physical condition, mental condition, military services, citizen ship status, sexual orientation, age, religion, ethnic group, gender and many other elements come in this category. There are lot of benefits for having a diversified place like organization who work with diversify environment can appoint candidates of different diversification according to their best qualification so all candidates are selected according to their experience and qualification with the diversified feature.

With such organization employer re also willing to work in diversified environment because more challenge and more learning they get in such type of environment and also obtain more experience and they also learn how to manage in with different people to get successful targets. This diversification is also helpful for organization to expand their operations at national, international, regional and local markets in better ways as it can handle all type of people with this unique feature. Diverse background employees are beneficial for organization in such a way that by their cultural experience they imbue the organization with perspective informed and with creative new ideas. By improving how employees interact with more diverse clientele and public and increased customer satisfaction.

With the demographic makeup of America, a diversified workplace can better align an organization’s culture. To better understand target demographic and what moves them in this regard the diverse workplace will provide help to organization. For the HR professionals, it is going to be a unique challenge to managing the diversity in the workplace. And if organization creating conflict management strategies to manage issues, develop open communication and promote the culture of tolerance then these types of challenges can be minimized. There are some organizations that have no diversified environment such organization can train diversity to its employees through diversity training programs among their employees. The successes of the training program depend on the response of the employees as they give positive response after training and not dismiss that training with negative attitude. So there are three common ways to follow the diversity training program in the organization and that are making the diversity as main part of the company process and also included in the mission statement of the organization, in the groups meetings use the diversity activities like on a shared task the setting of team with diverse background, addressing activities stereotype and taking activities as perspectives and provide proper training of diversified work with different initiatives.

Actually, every organization want that their all employees are capable of doing work with all type of people and with all type of environment so they provide them better training through different ways and train its employees to work in most diversified environment and obtain it’s all targets successfully. So, diversification is very important for the organization to deal with all kind of employees and also handle all type of environment because international or sometime at national level people of different cultures and by utilizing their qualification sand experience organization can obtain maximum benefits. Because if the employees are not comfortable with diversified environment or with working with different people then no any organization can run in long term because there are many problems that same people never handle properly. 1.      If you were to develop your own diversity training plan for the organization what would you do? What parts of the training plan do you think would have to be present for it to work?

Evaluating the efforts of my team along with delivering workshops and reference materials, designing the material that reflects the training requirements of my overall team. By making my diversity training program by taking care of my team’s needs and material that is needed to make the project accomplishment successful. The employee retention rates boost the morale of the employees and reduced their issues in terms of motivating them to work hard and improve their skills. I will first take care of the stakeholders and the project sponsors of our project that are investing and taking interest in our working.

 I will conduct a survey from the office workers about their thinking on the project and I will ask them that what behaviors needs to be changed in terms of implementing a new diversity training plan. I will somehow change the management of my team; I will have an effective communication with all my team members this will lessens the gap of communication between team members and team leads. I will try to handle all the conflicts if happened between the team members and team leads and if there came any gender issue in between them. (Duggan, 2019)

The objectives of my plan will be defined in advance so that there will not be any issue came while completing the project by the team. The identification of all the important values and the workforce that is needed to be done in order to achieve the complete objective of the working on the project and to properly maintain its timings to complete it on deadline and to make it a perfect work so that it will have the best results and provide complete project on time as a must. This will not only improve the working efficiency of the organizations and also increases the team’s performance and team efficiency as well.

In GCC a number of companies are not promoting diversity in their workforces. A research indicates that out of 170 companies total 147 (85.6%) are working without diversity. In these companies, females are not the member of boards and managerial staff. The leading industries with lack of diversity are mining industry. Petroleum and Gas industry, IT industry, and pharmaceutical industry.    

At GCC diversity is considered as an asset. United Arab Emirates is going through diversity in culture and embrace the different perspectives and experiences. There are variety of ways to represent the diversity in different departments including socioeconomic class, sexual orientation, race, political affiliation, mental health status, linguistic background, criminal background, and geographical background. The construction projects in the GCC are becoming diverse in terms of wide range of workforce and multi-cultural construction sites. The efficiency of these projects reduces due to lack of knowledge and miscommunication with the supervisors. The diverse workforce and process that influence construction outcomes are different in terms of time of completion, quality, and safety parameters. the significant consequence is unsafe behavior and it leads of 80% of the work-related accidents. It is essential to understand the influence and nature of the cultural diversity at the construction sites of GCC. The active cultural differences have potential impact on the undesirable outcomes. Most of the construction sites and other work-related industries fill diverse workforce from different nationalities that leads to diversity in the culture of industry. The proper management of cultural diversity is required to improve the success of construction industry. The lack of knowledge about the active cultural differences reduces efficiency to manage cultural differences (Al-Bayati, Abudayyeh, & Ahmed, 2017).    

2.      A variety of industries have unique problems that come with a lack of understanding of diversity. Can you think of any industries struggling with a lack of diversity? How can diversity training be tailored to these industries?

Lack of understanding of diversity causes many of the problems in an industry. It can decrease the positivity in the organization and hence it badly effects the working atmosphere of the organization. Diversity should be well understood and well managed by the team leads as all the issues must be resolved. Technology companies are facing many of the issues in diversity as they have to tackle the variety of issues in the working aspect of the organization and hence they are going to check whether they are going okay or not. The aim of present work was to identify and evaluate diversity training program in different organizations of GCC. The survey analysis was conducted to measure diversity in the training plan. Diversity improved working efficiency of the organization and team performance was also improved. In the work, variety of industries is considered to identify the impact of lack of diversity. The research identified environmental effects and maximum benefits of the organization. There are number of benefits of cultural diversification as it improves skills and knowledge of workers in the industry. The diversity in workplace enables the organization to reach the target goals.
