Termodinamica is a company that works for marine air conditioning. It was established in 2010 by 3 founders who have been working for industrial refrigeration and mechanics since the 80s. The huge passion for the sea pushed them to begin this activity to promote their vision of the onboard comfort. This vision has led them to form this company to fulfill their ambitions. 

High quality along with state of the art technologies are the clear mark of a company that wants to guarantee excellence in systems and products. The company structure is composed of 3 departments: mechanic, electronic, and refrigeration. Inverter Compressor (Termodinamica)

Termodinamica uses the inverter compressor with twin rotary architecture. It is a compressor characterized by extraordinary features. The compressor runs at variable speeds in a range of 600-6000 rpm according to the instant power demand and without any waste of energy. 

The inverter compressor has been developed with the consumption of power in mind. We wanted to create a compressor that could run even at low levels. That is what we have created. Our inverter compressor is an innovative solution that does not waste energy at all. In fact, it is perfect for saving energy.

Electronic Expansion Valves (Termodinamica)

Termodinamica’s Electronic Expansion Valves offer 500 adjustments. Just imagine the sheer number of modifications that you can make without any issue. You can find the right setting that compliments the system and adjust it. It has an accurate electronic control which allows precise operations of the air handler at the tenth degree (0.1°F).

Remote Control GSM-GPS (Termodinamica)

Termodinamica adopts a compact and accurate telemetry system, which, by exploiting the GSM / UMTS network, transmits to the central command centre of support all the operating parameters of the machine and notifies in advance the possibility of failure. It means that whenever you are using our device, you do not have to worry about experiencing any sudden issue. Even if there is a problem then it will be identified accurately and you will be notified about it. 

Touch Screen (Termodinamica)

Termodinamica’s systems are all equipped with a 4.3″ touch screen, wide, bright and sensitive to the touch. The user can adjust a wide range of operating parameters. There are manual controls as well but in order to facilitate adjustments, touch screens have been installed.

If you experience difficulties in adjusting the system manually, you can just depend on the automated system. Inverter Compressor

Termodinamica uses the inverter compressor with twin rotary architecture, a compressor characterized by extraordinary features. The compressor runs at variable speeds within the range of 600-6000 rpm, according to the instant power demand and without any waste of energy. Compressors can be applied either to water chiller or to direct expansion system.

Direct expansion systems with VRV architecture (Variable Refrigerant Volume), based on single condensing unit and multiple air handlers with a single 2 pipes refrigerant line, are more performing and are covered by a worldwide patent owned by Termodinamica.

The performance of Termodinamica VRV reaches EER and COP values (Energy Efficiency Ratio and Coefficient of Performance W/W) up to 7. This means that a 100ft yacht could be conditioned with a maximum power source of 9kw as against 25kw of a standard water chiller, and only 2 kw with the boat in temperature during summer.

An advanced electronic management allows to manage working temperatures of every air handler in the range of -15°C (5°F) to 18°C(65°F) in cooling, and 20°C(68°F) to 55°C(130°F) in heating, by using continuous variation of working temperature according to the required capacity.

The Inverter compressor is interfaced with a microprocessor system that analyzes every millisecond the best working conditions to obtain the maximum performance. The system offers surrounding cooling capacity with fast cooling and perfect set point temperature keeping. Capacity on demand helps to manage the system power and direct it where it is really needed, without energy waste. The final result is an important energy saving with 50% off as minimum guaranteed compared to all other systems in the market, but often, Termodinamica is able to do more, with energy savings up to 75%. Termodinamica in the last years, was the reference point, for the owners and yards focused to reach the highest yacht efficiency.

Electronic Expansion Valves

EEV are the most important components of our systems. These valves allow you to get extremely precise temperature outputs from air diffusers. EEV offer an accurate electronic control with 500 steps allowing for precise operation of the air handler to the tenth of degree (0.1°)!

Compared to a hydraulic line, refrigerant lines allows you to optimize performance.  This allows you to minimizes the wait time in getting desired temperature into the cabins. With this system, it is possible to maintain one room at a working temperature of 77°F (25°C) and another room at a temperature 68°F (20°C). This is done by adjusting air handlers coils at different temperatures.

Each valve has a dedicated microprocessor that manages and communicates with

central CPU. On the contrary, chillers have the same water temperature for all of their

air handlers and the thermostat only controls fan speed. This technology, with the use of inverter compressors, is exclusive to Termodinamica which holds worldwide patents for the marine industry. 

These valves also allows CPU control of superheat and condensation of refrigerant to come up to the physical limit of its operating curve. Catalogue includes machines that heat the yacht with sea water temperatures down to 23°F (-5°C)! 

With Termodinamica’s system on board, there’s no needs to install additional heating systems. Thanks to this evolved management of the electronic valve we obtain values of COP (Coefficent of Performance) of up to 7.1 kw electricity consumed, 7 kw heating capacity produced. It’s possible to accomadate custom made systems for heat pump boilers and

pools.

EEVs offer 500 adjustments, due to an accurate electronic control, and allow precise operations of the air handler at the tenth degree (0.1°F). The refrigerant line, compared to hydraulic line, allows you to optimize performance, and to minimize the wait time in getting desired temperature into the air handler.

This technology, including the use of inverter compressor, is exclusive to Termodinamica which holds worldwide patents for the marine field. These valves allow also CPU control of superheat and condensation of R410A gas and come up to the physical limitation of its operating curve. 

The catalogue includes machines that heat the yacht with sea water temperatures down to 10°F (-12°C). Ocean water temperatures at the poles are around 26°F (-3°C), so if you install Termodinamica there is no need of additional heating systems.

Remote Control GSM-GPS

Termodinamica uses special materials for the production of the components they offer. This enables them to provide systems that are extremely performing and ultralight. 

For professional customers – 24/7 monitoring system are available that are constantly

communicating with Termodinamica´s operating center to alert in case the a system begins

to work in harsh conditions.

On board, the software is based on smart fault prevention system.

It surveys every components of the system, (temperatures, pressures, voltage etc) and before a components can breakdown for continuos work in harsh conditions, the software will analyze the anomalities and will control it. Termodinamica marine remote control system makes happy every crew member guaranteeing a superior level of service.

Termodinamica adopts a compact and accurate telemetry system. It leverages a GSM / UMTS network to transmit to the central command center of support, all the operating parameters of the machine and notifies in advance the possibility of any failure.

The GSM modem constantly communicates with the CPU of the system that controls at any moment the state of the machine. 

The control software processes all the information received and, in case of a possible system anomaly, security staff is alerted. Hence, they can contact the nearest technical support center, even before that the owner may require service. 

The GPS system, built into the modem, allows you to know at all times where the boat is, without any additional information by the owner.

In case of minor anomalies, the service center can work remotely (via remote) by helping the on board engineer. The malfunction can be diagnosed and fixed in few minutes.

Termodinamica builds in series its products, but offers a high degree of customization. 

After the installation, if the ship-owner wishes to have further adjustments on the ventilation speed or on the control of the working temperature, it is possible to adjust in real time, and directly from remote, the operating parameters of the machine.

Touch Screen (Termodinamica)

An advanced air conditioning system needs advanced controllers.

The system is equipped with 4.3” wide touchscreen, bright, and very sensitive to touch.

The touchscreen display can also be customized and offerend in a larger size. Up to a maximum size of a 15” glass surface.

The user has the option of choosing from a different set of parameters, such as 7-speed ventilation overnight mode and the automatic mode.

The Power Manager software has a dedicated area where you can set the maximum power consumption of the HVAC system.

The service mode display, displays the working conditions of the system, available in various different graphics, showing up to 3 months of data. 

The fault prevention display contain a series of indicators that help the user with troubleshooting problems in case the system is facing any type of issues.

From the home display you can remotely control a single or more than one cabin. The system can also be controlled from any smartphone or tablet connected to wifi.

The Termodinamica system is equipped with a 4, 3″ touch screen that allows the user to control the entire system. 

Very useful is the power manager software that allows to adjust the maximum power source for air conditioning at certain value. This function can be also automatic with load sensors that detect others loads level and adjust the AC power. Another special function allows to cool the yacht with battery only without genset for several hours. (Up to 6 hours for 90ft with 700Ah)

A service page helps the captain to check working conditions and maintenance level of the system. Water and air filters, working hours, power supply level etc. This is a helpful human-machine interface to have anytime an efficient system.

24V Unit

TD24V is Termodinamica’s solution for boats under 100 ft. This unit is based on a variable speed compressor powered directly at 24 Volts DC capable of 16.000 btu/h in the cooling mode.

Compressor Box

The Termodinamica compressor boxes are designed to offer every time maximum comfort and superior efficiency. The unique and patented technology is able to manage “on demand” power request for every single air handler.

Air Handler

The Termodinamica Air Handler has been designed to be compact and very powerful. Its coil in copper with narrow ranks and high silver content can develop an impressive 30,000btu thermal power in air conditioning. Stainless Steel 316 and blue hydrophilic film protect health from bacteria and allow a perfect sanitation of the coil.

Air Handling Units

Termodinamica’s Air Handling units can be installed in every kind of air duct. Its unit coils are able to work in the range -10°C (14°F) to +18°C (65°F) in cooling and 20°C (68°F) to 55°C (130°F) in heating. Titanium Heat Exchangers

Termodinamica is specialized in manufacturing and designing Titanium Advanced Heat Exchangers for industrial and marine applications. The base material is high purity Titanium full TIG welded totally corrosion proof and prevents fouling by vegetation and salt in marine industry. Capacity ranges from 1KW to 1 MW

Megayacht Refrigeration

Thanks to Termodinamica’s deep knowledge of refrigeration systems, we have developed a range of refrigeration equipment suitable to accurately store delicate foods in megayachts and cruise ships. 

24V Unit

TD24V1 is a self-contained air conditioning unit with a built-in titanium condenser. This unit is based on a variable speed compressor powered directly at 24 Volts DC capable of 16.000 btu/h in cooling mode.

The TD24V1 uses an eco-friendly R134A refrigerant that works at a maximum pressure of 145 psi, allowing safe operation with people on board.

Variable speed compressor is able to manage capacity on demand and satisfy the heat load of the cabin as necessary. It offers powerful cooling and energy savings operation when the cabin is in temperature.

Power consumption is extremely low with a minimum of 250 watts and a maximum of 750 watts (11Amps to 30Amps).

Our sea water condenser is made of grade 2 Titanium that offers incredible resistance to fouling from salt and does not suffer from corrosion.

The base and main frame of the product are made of 316L stainless steel that is extremely corrosion resistant.

An advanced microprocessor system controls the unit that prevents damage and monitors faults. (high pressure, high temperature etc.).

A touch screen human interface offers a user friendly experience and allows the user to control system settings and offers an easy troubleshooting interface that explains the possible origin of any issues.

Our system uses a power management algorithm that the user can set to achieve a specific maximum power consumption. It helps to save energy from the batteries and reduce maximum capacity when needed.

Air Handler (Termodinamica)

Powered by careful design criteria, Mr. Slim is definitely the flagship model.

Very compact and extremely powerful at the same time. The special coil design took 8 months to develop and involves the works of many European experts in refrigeration.

The turbolenced fin and the special geometry allows an incredible capacity of 30.000

btu in the cooling mode.

Blu finish prevents the salt corrosion and allows for better condensation drainage to produce dryer air.

This special feature combined with the electronic humidity control allows to offer an accurate humidity control of 55% also in very humid climate like the Caribbean.

A healthier environment is offered by the stainless steel 316L frame and drain panel mirror polished.

This metal, specially used for food processing, helps avoid bacteria growth and prevents rust. It also offers increased durability with no need of maintenance. The powerful fan, driven by a BLDC motor offers a maximum air flow of 650 m3/h and a reduced noise in night mode of 20dB. It’s ideal to manage alone surface up to 15 m2 (160 ft2).

Air Handling Unit (Termodinamica)

Termodinamica develops every kind of air handling unit. In fact, application goes from medium yacht to cruise ship.

More than special construction quality, Termodinamica’s air handling units, are well known for their capacity to be installed in every kind of air duct. This is obtained by a clever electronic connected with flow and pressure sensor that enables to equalize and offer proper air supply in every moment.

Termodinamica helps the shipyard for the design and installation of the mechanical ventilation system until the last detail. Termodinamica is able to offer a wide range of accessories for marine air ducts like variable flow shutter (VAV) and motorized on/off shutter. In addition to that, a wide range of air diffusers are available to satisfy the needs of every environment.

Termodinamica is specialized in manufacturing and designing Titanium advanced heat exchangers for industrial and marine applications.

The base material is high purity Titanium full TIG welded in Argon protective atmosphere.

Valuable experience, gained in materials welding, has enabled us to build exceptionally reliable heat exchangers for heavy duty applications, where quality and reliability are mandatory.

Our titanium exchanger is totally corrosion proof and prevents fouling by vegetation and salt in marine industry. It means that the exchanger will offer its maximum performance, without derating, for all its working life.

The titanium heat exchanger offers high mechanical resistance thanks to a special patented construction that increase flexibility. In colder seas, we can reach excellent heat exchange performance to exalt energetic performance of our HVAC systems.

Termodinamica offers excellent systems for marine heating based on inverter heat pump

That enable it to reach COP 7. It means that instead of the electric heater with COP 1 amp, inverter heat pump uses a power consumption of 1kw and release 7kw of heating capacity!

This system provides important savings on board (as well as fuel consumption) and it’s also the most eco-friendly system for polar vessels.

The advanced use of electronic expansion valves (EEV) and the smart management software that controls the refrigerant evaporation, also with sea water at -5°C (23°F), has the ability to produce 50°C of hot air in any condition.

Mega Yacht Refrigeration (Termodinamica)

Termodinamica is a relatively new player in the cruise industry. 

The company entered this market in 2017 and since the beginning, it demonstrated strong skills in important projects and a surrounding technological success.

Applying the VRV + Capacity on demand technology, we can offer energy savings up to – 80% compared to all other companies in the market. 

For a cruise ship, it means more than a Million USD per year in fuel saving. Very important for the energy management on board and for the planet that saves tons of Co2 per year.

The use of the EEV combined with advanced software allows the crew to improve the food quality trough a better cold chain. Temperature control with resolution up to 0.1° and humidity control up to 1% RH combined with customized programs for meat, fish, fruit, and vegetables are just few of the advanced features that Termodinamica can offer. All the compressors in the range are inverter controlled to offer variable cooling capacity from 20% to 100% with step at 0.1%. The system offer rs485 modbus interface with other on-board management systems and internet connection for remote service.

TITANIUM CONDENSER - Totally different from the old co-axial tubes in standard systems, which provide low efficiency. Termodinamica’s condenser consists of a fully TIG welded pure titanium cylinder with gas flow inside a flooded tube. This special condenser eliminates the problems of maximum power absorption with the changing of sea water temperatures like co-axial condensers. Thanks to a special construction architecture, it improves the gas condensation process and increases the efficiency of the system in an average of 62%. It has a weight reduction of around 3 times compared to Copper- Nickel.

and efficiency.

SEA WATER PUMPS - Pumps are normally another critical chapter in the

reliability of the yacht. Termodinamica designed special pumps that fix

the corrosion problems effectively. The main issues are related to the shaft that connect the

motor and the impeller. With the contact of different material, flooded in salt water,

the shaft is the first part to be subjected to corrosion. Termodinamica fixes

this problem effectively with a magnetic drive impeller with no shaft and no needs of sealings. The impeller is sealed inside the pump head and the propulsion power is transmitted

trough a magnetic field. Thanks to the use of powerful magnet, neodymium based, this

kind of magnetic pumps offer also good electric efficiency. Pumps range from

100 liters/minute to 2000 liters/minute.

ELECTRONICS - Often this item is synonymous of problems and complexities.

Termodinamica is convinced that the electronics are essential to simplify the management,

operation, and also the installation of a device. The spirit that drove the design of the system

was just to streamline and make it more reliable. Each component is combined with a small

intelligent microprocessor that manages it. Each board communicates with another by 2

wire bus (rs485). In order to wire an entire yacht, you need only 4 wires that start from the

compressor box to the touch screen. (2 x 24Vdc power + 2 data bus). A considerable saving

of time during the cable installation, greater repair simplicity in case of failure. Furthermore,

the integrated system of diagnosis displays on the touch screen the parameters of machine

operation and allows to identify and fix, easily and shortly, the operating problems.

We can further intensify the level of service provided in a desired area, should the yard or the dealer request it. TAC is the result of a strategic partnership with a Japanese multinational corporation that has been operating in the field of air conditioning since 1928. 

This gives us a TAC portfolio unimaginable compared to large groups of naval air conditioning.

All our TAC technicians have minimum a high school degree and all have been trained to install and repair. All have a professional license or certificate for refrigeration. Their training means that people must be educated, friendly and polite, also the strict and thorough training of Termodinamica means that every owner, can be fully satisfied with the speed, skill, and professionalism that will carry out the work. Our TAC are already in possession of all types of parts necessary to rebuild a machine entirely. 

If failures occur due to abnormal tampering or particular problems to the electrical plants, Termodinamica Italy is able to send - next day - any type of component of up to 220 lb of weight in every part of the world with delivery directly from the dealer or the TAC. 

This is possible thanks to specific agreements with DHL and FEDEX ensuring rapid air transport and care of the package.
