Discussion on Working from Home or Office; which one is better?

It is important to understand when any topic of discussion or story is picked having two or more sides, and then it is obvious that the story will have various dimensions to talk about. The same is the case with working from home or office as both have pros and cons, but it is always vital to talk about those elements, which are more important than the others. A person working from home can have great freedom to work from home, without facing the hassle of traffic to reach the office. The weather can be cold or hot, or it can be a rainy season, but someone working from will have the essence to avoid these issues. The individual working from home will also have some kind of flexibility to work. But when things are analyzed with closer and more important elements, then it is identified that in a long term perspective, working from home is not better than working from the office. I also support this viewpoint that working from home cannot prove as fruitful as working from the office is. One can miss so many opportunities for growth and socialization, and also he/she may lack motivation and learning to move forward in a professional career. If someone wants to do something big and better in life, then working from the office is the way to move forward by staying in a learning environment, which one has the essence to compete.

It is a fact that one has to get motivation and inspiration to do things, which look impossible from the outset. Working from the office gives the motivation to work hard for career growth. When a person is working in an office, he/she can get great support and knowledge from his/her supervisors. The colleagues can also play a positive part to keep someone motivated. If someone is stuck in a task, then colleagues can help to find a solution. This is possible because a person can get immediate feedback from his colleagues and supervisors. So, if anything is going wrong, he/she can immediately correct his/her mistake to do it accordingly. An individual can get in touch with supervisors and colleagues to get feedback during the middle of his/her task and make any changes, which can help to complete the task with great perfection and quality.

            The other great thing about working from an office is the learning environment. One cannot grow as a person being alone working at home. Humans do need some motivation and knowledge to improve their abilities and skills, and it can only happen when they are given a great learning environment. The other beauty of working at the office is the socialization. An individual does need mentors and friends in life to reflect upon his life in so many ways. A person should understand that social life is very critical. It is a very positive thing to socialize with your co-workers, going out for lunch with them, and spending a happy time with them. It allows you to get feedback, share ideas, and also receive better ideas to pursue further in the professional career. It is often observed that people do lack discipline in their lives, which stops them to work as per their capability and potential. One has to have great discipline in life to move forward, and it is impossible to get this discipline by staying at home. An office will help you to stay disciplined following a formal dress code, and taking care of the office timings. A disciplined lifestyle will help a person to get everything in proper order.

            It is true that people who support the idea of working from home; have many advantages to talk about like they tell that working from home gives great freedom and flexibility in life. An average office worker may work 8 hours in the office, and then 2 to 3 hours can take for his commute from home to office, which makes his/her job longer than the 8 hours. But a person working from doesn’t have to dress properly, and he/she does not have to look for any transport. He/she can avoid all of these hassles, and work for 8 hours, without adding any additional time due to other elements. But it is important to keep in mind that working from home can have more disadvantages. A person cannot have the facility to use great resources, technology, and other things, which an office provides to its workers. One has to rely on standard technology and equipment to work from home. He/she will have to manage all the expenses, like if his/her laptop is not working, then he/she will buy a new one with his own money. On the other hand, if a laptop is not working in the office, the office will be providing a new one. The work from home has advantages, but they are not too important in the growth and development perspective of one’s career.

            In the end, it can be concluded that it is certainly a personal choice for anyone, like what they prefer in their life. Are they comfortable with working from home, or is there any motivation and inspiration to step up on the career ladder by staying in a competitive and learning environment. But when both aspects are analyzed more closely, it is evident that working from the office is better than working from home in a variety of ways. The advantages of working from office are far more superior and critical than the advantages of working from home. So, one should always look to choose the option of working from the office to have a better career in the future.
