The experiment was conducted by Mark Blaskovich along with his team at the  Then, the team presented the results at the “American Society for Microbiology” annual forum in San Francisco.

Matt Callahan as an Executive Director and founder of Botanix stated that, “The fact that cannabidiol kills resistant bacteria quickly, when combined with the drug’s newly validated anti-inflammatory properties, gives us confidence that BTX 1801 has significant potential as a powerful new antimicrobial for use in skin and other infections.”

This experiment conducted by Botanix due to the reason that there is an urgent demand of antibiotic-resistant bug or bacteria which has extremely increased. Therefore, the company mentioned that there is a necessity to find a new innovation to add up the list of antibiotic.

For this reason, Botanix now starts to perform more experiments and researches to figure out the finest strategy for clinical expansion of  BTX1801. The biotech now is targeting the skin infections for their upcoming experiments.

In the other hand, an ironic condition which is still happening until now is that, the Food and Drug Administration or FDA has not established proper laws and regulations for the people to use CBD products. The only products of CBD that has approved by the FDA until now is Epidiolex, which has been used within the treatment of confiscations in two specific epilepsy diseases. Yet, people need a medical prescription to get it.

Nowadays, CBD has been found to be infused as one of the ingredients in food, beverages, and also supplements. However, the legality for the consumption of the CBD-infused products remains to be unclear. In fact, many cases reported for some people got arrested due to consuming or just carrying the CBD products.

The Director of the Environmental Health Program Doug Farquhar stated at NCSL (National Conference of State Legislatures), there is still a “long way out” for the regulations and laws which authorize the use of CBD.

Furthermore, speaking of the laws and regulations of CBD, Farquhar also explained that, "The states are much more able to react to these nuances, but right now it makes it a little bit more difficult because they can't react to regulation that's just not there."

Well, it seems that the scientists need to do more experiments and researches to prove that CBD really could give health benefit for the people. With this, it might motivate the FDA or the federal government to establish proper laws and rules to regulate CBD.

Plus, the scientists also still have to assure the government that CBD or Cannabidiol is really safe to be used for medical treatment as well. For this reason, they have to conduct further researches to get approval from the federal government for CBD products in the market. Let’s hope for the best.
