Materials needed of Porcelain Paving in your Garden:

·         Hardcore

·         Porcelain paving slabs

·         Sand

·         Cement

Tools needed of Porcelain Paving in your Garden:

·         Compactor

·         Spade or Shovel

·         Circular saw

·         Rubber mallet

·         Broom

·         Diamond blade

Step 1:

The first important step is to make a subbase. You should mark the areas, which are going to be used in this process, and once the areas are marked, the next step is digging a depth, which should be 150mm at least. Once the area is ready; then put hardcore to fill out an area of 100mm, and two layers should be prepared to make it more compact. For this purpose, a compacting machine can be used, which makes this process easier to handle. You must understand, why sub base is needed, and the answer is to establish a base, which is solid enough for the tiles so that tiles can have stability and strength.

Step 2:

The second important step is the bedding. The leveled-out bedding is needed to place the tiles in a proper manner and this bed is prepared by using stranded cement and sand. You need to prepare a wet mixture, which will have a combination of 3:1, which means 3 times the quantity of sand, and 1-time quantity of cement. If you want to know what kind of sand and cement to use, then conduct some research before choosing a particular one. Make sure that you don’t compromise on quality in this regard. It is strongly advised that never use white cement and builder’s sand for this bedding purpose, as it will not work. Once the mixture of sand and cement is ready, apply it on the subbase.

Step 3:

The next crucial step in the process is priming along with laying. You must keep in mind that before laying, it is vital that porcelain slab’s each underside is coated with a primer, which is slurry-based. It is important to know that porosity associated with porcelain is lower as compared to other paving materials, so moisture will not be absorbed by the tiles. Be careful while applying the primer that it should not spill onto porcelain slabs’ face, because it is extremely difficult to remove or even it may be impossible in some cases. The rubber mallet should be used to tap the primed porcelain, as a hammer will not be a good option in this regard. If any tile is not fitting into the actual shape, then the diamond blade can be used to cut it for adjustment.

Step 4:

After completing the above three steps, the tiles will be paved on the floor with actual design and requirements, but these tiles will leave a gap between each other, which should be filled so that tiles can be joint together. You can use a jointing compound, which is specifically used for this purpose. This step is critical because it will give a sleek and beautiful finish to the tiles. Do it slowly and carefully, and once all the joints are filled, then wash the surface so to clean any excessive compound on the tiles. The good thing is that you can choose the color of your choice, which can be used for this compound. So, look at the color of tiles, and select a color for a compound which fits well with the color of tiles.
