Abstract of Flexible scheduling

The flexible working hours in the workplace increases the diversity of workforce and working time range for the company. In the organization, the management must be aware of the issues, challenges and pitfalls. The present work deals with advantages and disadvantages of flexible scheduling in the workplace. Most often management prefer flexible working hours by designing the efficient schedule. The flexible scheduling is associated with several advantages to the employees such as employee flexibility, commute, empowerment, childcare, commitment and brings improvement in the business. the only drawback is for the team-oriented management that face issues of schedule.

3 Disadvantages of flexible scheduling for the employee

When all colleagues are not holding on similar schedule, the employee can find it difficult to work. It always requires advance level of planning and help from the employee and overall team efforts to plan schedule for work days. That is why every employee tend to get core hours of the day when everyone will be available in the office.

When you choose to have flexible hours sometimes it means that you are working every time. If the management is allowing you to go to your parent teacher meeting, then they will also not feel guilty for calling you at 11pm

Family or friends can lose temperament when you tell them you can’t entertain the child because you are working remotely and this eventually effect the relationships because after all you are home all day. Working for home is still an abroad concept of working.

There are some managers who are used to see workers to come and they watch them working all day long at work and new management style requires trust to build up. Some employee takes the advantage of working from home or flexibility. And sometimes they find difficult to focus because somehow, they can’t see their productivity physically.
