This is a satyr
kind of play as it is describing the tragedies and losses Ismene and Antigone
have gone through. Such plays depict the true mood of grief and sorrow of the
people and this makes their sorrow open towards the audiences. The Chorus helps
in storytelling in a way that it is making the audience interest more towards
the play by keeping them indulged by singing poems for them. The moral
character this play is playing is the view of the troubles and issues of the
Greek in front of others is a form of a ship that is surrounded by troubles and
problems and with hard work and all communities’ efforts the ship is safely
delivered towards the harbour finally. The main theme was discussing the king Oedipus
that was not a good king towards Greek people and which keeps them in strong
trouble as after he there came King Laois who was devoted towards Greek and
resolved their issues and make people relax and comfortable in their stay in
Greek.
Antigone is
somehow relevant to the current situation in the world as in many countries
still there is such situation exists that some bad rulers are going to rule on
people by troubling them with different threats and has made their life equal
to hell. The play is a good way of showing the truly bad and worse side of some
bad rulers who use to rule over the people just to give them trouble. The main
thing is that rulers must take care of their people's troubles, sorrows and
problems and they must be able to manage the workings efficiently as the people
will more likely to have it in terms of keeping the workings efficiently and
effectively. For example, the mentioned devotion of King Laois is exceptional
and it is mentioned in the play as in this play it is also stated that their
sons were better than Oedipus. Other things are the good portrait of problems
before the audience in an attractive way that makes them realize facts (Fitts, 2018).
