SUBJECT: Proposed Mission
Statement & VARS Framework of Uber
First
of all, I would like to thank you for giving me this opportunity to provide
detailed information regarding the project. The first thing for Uber
corporation is to create a mission statement that should reflect what products/services
the organization offers and how the organization becomes one of the world's
most successful ride-sharing businesses. The proposed mission statement of Uber
is to” Provide cheap and reliable ride-sharing
services to every customer. The aim of Uber is to make transportation available
for everyone. Uber not only wants to deliver transportation services to its
customers but also wants to create various job opportunities for drivers who
want to create high income.”
The
proposed mission statement can be considered a complete and exceptional mission
statement. the reason for that is that not only the mission statement is
reflecting what services the organization is providing to its customers but
also indicates the activities which make Uber one of the largest ride-sharing
companies around the world (Campbel, Edgar, & Stonehouse, 2011). As Uber is a
multisided platform it provides a value proposition to both drivers and
passengers. For passengers, the value propositions include fast pickups. Lower
prices than ordinary taxi ride and facility to estimate fare through the application
are some of the key value propositions. The customers/riders do not need to
tell the driver where they want to go or what is their destination (Campbel, Edgar, & Stonehouse, 2011).
Uber
provides safe and secure services to the customer and through rating system
feedback can be provided. For drivers, income generation and flexible working
hours are some of the key value propositions. For drivers, there is a dedicated
application form where they can track their earning and other activities. The
drivers can join without any difficulty and there is no need for any
investment. In peak hours the riders can earn above average income (Spender, 2014).
The
Uber provides insurance coverage to the drivers. If any damages occur then the
driver does not need to argue with the customers because the platform will take
care of it. Getting customers to have no cost for the drivers. Overall it can
be said that there are many facilities for both drivers and customers if they
utilize the services of Uber. There are many resources and capabilities that
Uber corporation possesses. The organization used these resources and capabilities
for delivering the value proposition (Campbel, Edgar, & Stonehouse,
2011).
The key resources which the organization possess are mentioned as follows:
·
Venture capital that helps the
organization to expand its business across the globe
·
The organization has become a major brand
and created a brand image in the mind of the customers
·
The corporation possesses the analytic
capability
·
The architecture of the platform
·
skilled labor is a key resource of the
company
·
the passenger and driver application
·
Algorithms and captured data
The
above-discussed resources and capabilities allow the corporation to provide
high-quality services to its customers. The organization utilizes its resources
efficiently to generate a significant amount of sales which ultimately increases
the overall profitability of the corporation. In short, the corporation focuses
on high-quality customer services (Kourdi, 2015).
There
are many enterprise scope choices which Uber has made over the years. The
organization aims to expand its business into different parts of the world in
the upcoming years. The corporation wants to grow its platform so that more
participants can join Uber. The
corporation focuses heavily on technology and keeps on upgrading technology so
that customers can be given high-quality services. Uber wants to provide high-quality
services to its customers and for that, it is important that the organization
should focus on the latest technologies. With technology not only the
organization get a competitive edge over its customers but also the technology
will help the corporation to stand out in the market (Campbel, Edgar, & Stonehouse, 2011).
