Learning and development are one of
the most important things for children to progress in their lives. The children
need to enhance their process of learning so that they can have a better
personality and better performance in the academic field. These elements are
crucial for their success in the journey of life. However, there are so many
factors, which may affect the learning process of children such as anxiety, as
well as, dependence. It is a proven fact that the potential and abilities of
children are limited when they are dealing with anxiety. When they are
confident to perform well in any terms, they become earful and nervous due to anxiety. (Nottinghamshire County
Council, 2020)
This
fear due to anxiety does not allow children to grow and progress in their life,
because their learning process is somewhat stopped. They are fearful to take
any kind of initiative, which also limits their capability and creativity. To
deal with the anxiety of children, the social theory developed by Albert
Bandura can be extremely helpful for such children, as this theory helps to
fight with anxiety (Do, 2004)
Moreover, according to Albert
Bandura it is important to mention here that anxiety is not the only thing to
stop the learning process of children, but they also stop learning when they
are dependent on others. The children’s dependency on other elders is not a problem;
rather overdependence is actually a problem, which brings troubles in their
lives. It is observed that few children are more dependent on their parents for
everything, which means that they stop learning on their own, rather they
depend on others. The role of parents in increasing or decreasing the level of
anxiety and dependence is critical in so many ways as they are the first one,
who helps their children in the process of learning. Furthermore, author also
suggested that if they can deal with the anxiety and dependence of their
children more effectively, then such children will start learning more as they
will try to learn on their own, which is great for their creative and
innovative capabilities (Devine, David, & Menter, 2010)
