Background of the Organization of Royal Omani Police

The role that is being played by the Royal Oman Police is almost same and similar to the every police system all over this globe. This completely depends upon the upholding of the different laws fairly as well as firmly through prevention of different crimes. Bringing out the justice to all those who break up the law. In addition to this, Royal Oman Police is also being involved in providing out the different services with the respect to civil, customs, defense, immigration, first aid and etc.

Vision of Royal Oman Police:

Main task of the Royal Oman Police is the preservation along with maintenance of the order, protection along with the reassuring of the community. For achieving this goal, Royal Oman Police endeavors for utilizing all the new scientific means along with providing the different services by employing the highly qualified along with the trained forces by using the different technologies that are up to date. The Royal Oman Police have an aim to proceed with all the growing development in Oman is experiencing in all the different fields. Royal Oman Police also makes sure to provide an assurance umbrella for maintaining the national success along with the achievement in such a way that don’t even contradict with the citizens at all and even expatriates all the different rights and the freedom in the accordance to laws and rules. 

Objectives of the Royal Oman Police:

Main responsibilities that are related to the Royal Oman Police is the maintenance of the law and the order throughout the whole Oman country. They protect the rights and lives of people along with the property as well. They uphold all the laws in order to serve out the community along with the protection of all persons against the different kind of illegal acts. They all should prevent the crimes and then bring out justice to the law breakers, carrying out the number of different investigations and collection of different evidences.)

Details of Work Experience of Royal Omani Police:

Road accidents that are taking place in Oman are at alarming rate, all these have now also become a matter for the serious concerns to the families as well as to the community on the large scale as well. There is a joint solution that is being envisioned by the different sectors along with the individuals as well that are needed for this problem.

In Oman, Royal Oman Police is being represented by the Directorate General of the Traffic that is in charge of the traffic as well has completely urged out the whole community and specifically all the institutions that are being concerned for contributing along with enhancing the safety of road. This effort is being done for reducing the road accidents, rate of deaths along with the injuries.

There is no big deal in having road accidents, they do take place at different areas on different scale but the main thing here is that how these road accidents are being controlled by the Police. This is completely their responsibility to make sure they don’t cause any panic situation and observe all such rules properly. There (Hashim & Farag, 2017) are different rules that are being made or set by the traffic police and it is important and necessary that all these rules are also being follow by the different drivers while driving their cars on road. When these traffic rules are being violated than it becomes really dangerous for the drivers and as a result they face serious road accidents and may further cause much difficulties as well.

Traffic laws in Oman are being enforced out strictly and the results for violating them can be much severe and serious by the standards that are being set by the US. An example can be seen here that running the red light results in to the mandatory as well as the non-biable detention period for almost 48 hours of the duration. Some of the other traffic violations also carry much strict penalties that may also result into the jail sentences, different kind of the heavy fines that may include driving on the road without having proper kind of the driving license with them. These all are considered to be small traffic violations but at the end when any incident or road accidents take place they result into the large incidents and it becomes really difficult to get over them. When all these traffic violations are being done by the number of different drivers and they are being caught by the traffic police, it is the obligation of the drivers that they should corporate with the drivers without making any scene on the road and giving tough time to others as well. These rules are being made or set by the Royal Oman traffic police just for the safety of everyone to make sure people don’t get to face any difficulty or problem so this is important for all others as well to make sure they do each and everything appropriately and follow the traffic rules for their safety.

My overall experience here was really good as I got to know about so many things in detail. I never knew before working here that situation of Oman is this much worse and how do people break the rules and as a result different road accidents take place. After working in this organization things became much clear about the situation how people don’t follow the rules and break them so easily without thinking about their own life or about the others as well.

Reflection on work experience of Royal Omani Police:

Traffic is considered to be the worldwide problem. When any of the country start becoming industrialized and they do continuous effort, construction of the roads, buildings along with other infrastructure will definitely increase out its visibility which in one way or the other way can become the reason of causing a traffic jam. However, all these issues are not considered to be the sole issues for the cause of traffic situation? (Al, et al., 2018)A study has been conducted by the Rahane and Saharkar back in2014 and they have talked about the reasoning of traffic jams, these traffic jams are being caused by the number of different factors like the increasing population which is taking place at high scale, construction of the different buildings on high scale, non-observance of the traffic rules and no discipline at all in using out the right lines while driving Traffic situation is the part that varies from every one place to other no matter whether they are even in the same country but it definitely varies from area to area.

Traffic situation in Oman is worse as we have already talked about this factor above that the situation I mean current situation of traffic in Oman is not considered to be as good as it was in the previous times or even in comparison to the different other countries. Situation here in Oman is getting worse day by day. It has been seen and according to the survey that most of the road accidents take place in Oman at morning. There are multiple workers who make so much of the hustle and bustle to reach out their offices but as a result of getting hurried they end up making their lives as well as the lives of other people around them in danger and end up in the road accidents. This is not just happening with the workers here but with the students as well. They are also becoming one major part of such morning road accidents and this is also because of their hurries and getting panic all the time.

Here in this part let’s have a look at some of the common reasons due to which traffic congestion takes place in the Oman. There are multiple factors and reasons due to which traffic congestion takes place but another important thing is that they do vary from one place to the other and the situation is not same everywhere. One of the most common reason for the congestion of traffic in the Oman at different areas is the increased rate of the road accidents that are increasing day by day on large scale. When any of the road accident takes place then obviously it does take time to reach the police at the desired location and clearing out the things and make sure traffic start moving again. So this is one of the most common and large issue that has been found.  Royal Police of Oman gathered data from different areas of Oman and they have found recently that almost 119 of the road accidents took place and all of them were recorded at different areas which caused more than 13 deaths, 140 above injuries and this situation is increasing and getting worse as well day after day. On the daily basis, it has been recorded that more than 20 people gets injured or dies because of the road accidents.

Collection, management along with the dissemination of the Road Traffic Accident has caused out one of the serious problem to the safety officers along with the stakeholders as well. All of this is particularly true due to the absence of a central respository form where all of the information and data related to the accidents can be stored and managed as well. (Amira & Al, 2018) There can be number of different ways through which road accidents on the road can be monitored and data can further be stored. Well by monitoring the traffic accidents, it also helps out to monitor out the road. This can be done by the use of different CCTV cameras that are being installed at different areas on the road. Traffic police also plays one major role in monitoring out all the traffic accidents. Through this people completely makes sure nothing goes wrong and everything stays safe and goes according to the rules and regulations that are being set by the Traffic police for the safety of people. Road Traffic Monitoring system was being developed by the use of Adobe Dreamweaver. There are different kind of the tools and languages which are being used when an open source and that also ensured that an application would be robust, cheap, reusable and highly scalable as well. Road traffic accidents are considered to be one of the major reason of the mortality and morbidity.

Guidance to people to adhere to all the laws of traffic:

And guide people to adhere to traffic laws and good handling to properly communicate the information to violators. As it has been discussed above that it is very essential for all the drivers to make sure that nothing goes out of the hands and everything remains under control on the road so it is important and a must thing that the rules that are being set by the Police should be strictly followed. These rules are being made for the safety and protection of the people and if they don’t follow them then ultimately things go out of the hand. This is the other reason that Omani people are not following the rules and the result is disastrous that they are facing different road accidents on regular basis and on large scale as well. Different penalties and challans are also part of violating these rules that become the major reason for the road accidents. Obviously Royal Oman Police can also help to some extent they can’t impose these laws on everyone. This should be the duty of every individual person to follow them correctly for the sake of their lives along with the others who are around them. While driving car on the road everyone should be careful of the fact that they are not just alone on the road but many other people are also with them and if they violate any of the traffic rule or law then result would be bad and other people also have to go through with their bad consequences as well. I have so many people who just try to follow the rules when they see that traffic police is around them and don’t follow the rules and do everything according to their own will when they see that there is no traffic police around them. This should be the duty of every individual person to strictly follow the rules not just after when they see any of the traffic police but in both the cases whether they see them or not. (Police, 2009)

Conclusion and Recommendations of Royal Omani Police:

At the end of this report and having an experience through this, I would like to give out some of the recommendations here. Speed should not exceed to a certain limit. Now this also varies from place to place because in the crowded areas the speed limit is less while in the areas that are not crowded speed can exceed to certain limit. So in short this varies from place to place.

1. Everyone should try to avoid using mobile phone while driving no matter how emergency situation it is. If even one wants to use the phone than make sure they do have hand-free rather than getting all the attention on the mobile phone because road accidents take place just after the deviation of seconds and everything gets out of the hands and it goes completely wrong. So for the each and every individual who drives a car and use cell phone they need to make sure that try to avoid using mobile phone.
2. Seat belt is another important thing that needs to be fastened by the drivers in all the situations and no matter which area they are travelling in. One can see the importance of seat belt that it makes sure each and every individual remains safe while anything goes wrong or any kind of the road accident even takes place. So it is very important that one should always wear seatbelt no matter what.

These are some of the small rules that can save the life of your loved ones and even yours as well. No matter what the situation or condition is, try to make them part of the life while driving car as it would definitely help to reduce the ratio of road accidents and things can become much better in Oman. Omani people need to take all these rules carefully and need to impose them out on them every situation. (Al, et al., 2017)
