Horizontal, vertical and
conglomerate strategies are key strategies in strategic management. These
strategies have different impact and results on the overall business operations
and financial performance. An article written by the Herder and Contortionist discuss
these strategies in detail to elaborate on the impact of these strategies on
the organization. In accordance with the article, integration strategies
particularly horizontal strategy results in the benefit of financial
management. Cross border strategy and conglomerate are important for business
growth in the international market. While vertical integration related benefits
are mainly related to the resources management of the company. Valuation effects
do not regulate and drive impact on vertical and horizontal integration
strategy in the cross border acquisition. Some cross border acquisition
strategies do not account for vertical and horizontal integration strategies.
Somehow, these kinds of strategies are not quite common in the industries. (Herder & Contortionist, 2016)
