It is noted that public
speaking will be the best weapon in this century. The reason is that through
the help public speaking the people are able to share their ideas and remove
contradictions quite easily. The public speaking is totally changed in this era
and the reason is that the media is extremely faster. But giving a speech to
the public is not much different from the past. The major difference is that in
this era public speaking is more powerful. The people are able to share their
ideas easily with perfection. But in the past, it was extremely difficult to
learn about public speaking (Sedniev, 2012).
2) How has technology changed the way you
will present in the future?
In public speaking,
technology has been changed completely. This is because now there are a lot of
means of public speaking. The people are using several social media
applications to share their views with others. The people are making videos on
YouTube and sharing their ideas with people. The public speech is now upgraded
to the next level. The reason is that technology is increasing. There are many
authors that are explaining different technologies that are used in public
speech. With the help of these, there are many products are products for a public
speech like Google Hangout, Facebook and messenger
3) Be sure to reference one source from
your readings, videos, and lessons.
Explain the presentation ecosystem and discuss all three components in detail.
How will you use the presentation ecosystem when you deliver presentations in
future courses or in your career?
There are three main components of the presentation
ecosystem. On focusing on these components it will become quite easy to manage
the presentation in an ideal way. These components are
Content
During the presentation, the content plays the main
role. The reason is that if the content of the presentation is vast so it will
become quite easy for the presenter to share his ideas.
Visual presentation
The presentation must be perfect, means that the
outline of the presentation must be perfect and good looking. The viewer is
able to see what’s a presenter is explaining.
Delivery
The delivery and body language of the presenter must
be ideal. This is because through this he can easily share his views with the
audience (National Research Council, 2011).
4)How have you used storytelling in presentations you've delivered in the
past?
The storytelling is one of the most difficult tasks
during the presentation. In the past, I have delivered many presentations. But
only in a few presentations, I have used this storytelling technique. For
storytelling, I worked on making the presentation more ideal and perfect. I
started to repeat all the concepts after making the presentation. Then after
this, I started to make a story for clearing my point to the audience. It will
take 2 or more days to make a perfect story for the concept. Then after this, I
practiced it in front of the mirror and made my story more perfect.
5) How have you incorporated the story
into your presentations this term?
This is one of the difficult tasks during the
presentation to incorporate a story in my presentation. But I have done this
several times. In college time, I was giving a presentation on different
languages in rural areas. For explaining this point I have used my past story
during the interview with the rural person. He was replying me in his language
and I have learned some words that I have to use during the presentation.
Through the help of the story, I was able to link my ideas with the
presentation in an ideal way.
6)Do you have plans to double-check your
future presentations to ensure enough story is utilized?
Yes, I have made a proper plan for double-checking my
future presentation so that I am able to make a more comprehensive story. This
will help me in the future in sharing my ideas in a more ideal way than before.
This will also help me to improve my presentation skills and will be well aware
of how to attract the audience. The storytelling also helps me to make long
presentations for the future. This will also ensure me to make my point more
clearly to the audience.
7)Many previous readings, videos, and lessons referenced the importance of the story.
Reference two of those sources specifically to explain why storytelling is so
vital to public speaking.
Explain the difference between developing an informative presentation and
developing a persuasive presentation. Explain your preparation process for your
informative speech versus your persuasive speech in this course.
What are ethos, pathos, and logos? Give an example of how you might use each of
these three modes of persuasion in a persuasive speaking situation.
Before SPCH 219, what was your approach to creating PowerPoint® slides?
There is a lot of difference between developing an
informative speech and also developing a persuasive speech.
Informative speech
· In this speech, the
speaker is able to share his ideas in the form of proper information
·
The topic of an informative
speech is totally related to technology and the speaker is using abstract
concepts during the presentation,
·
In this type of speech,
there is a proper requirement of required data.
Persuasive speech
·
In this type, the
presenter must have a storytelling skill.
·
The presenter is able
to share his views in a proper way
·
The presenter is able
to attract his audience in such speech
·
In this type of speech,
the audience is convinced to adopt the position of the speaker
(Gallo, 2014)
8)What are the three most important slide design rules you learned in SPCH
219? Be sure to cite two sources from the course. How will you use these rules
when you design slides in the future?
There are three main presentation
design rules that are extremely important during the designing presentation.
The presenter must have to explain one point per slide. Through this, the
audience is able to evaluate that point during the presentation easily. The
next tip is that there will be less number of words in each slide of the
presentation. This means that there will be more pictures in the presentation
this will attract the audience. The last valuable tip is that the presenter
must have to link the presentation data in the form of a story. Through this,
the presentation is able to explain his point in a proper way (Sedniev, 2012).
9)What are three characteristics of authentic and natural delivery?
The three main characteristics are
Large conversation quality, speaker naturalness and
desire to communicate with the audience.
If the presenter has all of these characteristics then
he is able to communicate with his audience in a proper way. Through these
characteristics, the presenter is able to entertain his audience in a proper
way with perfection.
10) Be sure to cite two sources from your readings,
videos, and lessons.
Other than the items covered in the above questions, what is one additional,
important lesson you learned in the course? Be sure to cite your source
