In recent years the technology around the world is playing a key role in making the life of the people easier. In many organizations, many tasks are now performed with the help of technology. Due to technology, many activities which we used to perform in the past are now performed in a very short amount of time with accuracy. The technology has reduced the chances of errors up to a lot of extents and played a major role in increasing the standard of living of the people. However, the technology is developing so fast that no one knows what change the new technology will bring to society. Due to the rapid expansion of technology, people depend on technology has increased, which causes a false sense of control. Therefore it can be said that expansion occurs beyond the ability of human freedom to control it.

In the past, technology has revolutionized the world and help individuals to solve many major problems. The technology has provided new opportunities to the people and improve their way of living. Due to technology, businesses have become more efficient and able to provide more improve products to their customers. Technology helped scientists to perform research & development more accurately in simple words; technology provided many benefits to society (Vannoy & Palvia, 2010).

However, in recent years, the dependency on technology has increased so much that it has started to affect human beings. Today many people use technology for doing even the simplest tasks which can be done without the help of technology. In future, the people’s ability to think will decrease up to a lot of extents because today we have the devices which think for us. People today take help of technology to perform basic functions like spelling, calculations and even driving. In simple words, the people of tomorrow will be less functional than the people of today.

The technology has formed the medical, educational, business and social landscape of the world. The society has less control over the technology, which means that people have to follow the changes which the technology creates (Ratnam, Sanghrajka, Su, Pawar, & Choo, 2017). It means that rapid the changing in technology has the ability to influence the behaviour and the way people are living today. In simple words, the nature of technology is determinative, which allow people tom to confirm the changes which occur due to change in technology. It is obvious that the technology has many benefits for the society however the drawbacks also exists and if the something is not done quickly than the negative impact of technology would be a lot higher than the positive impact (Vannoy & Palvia, 2010).

The scientists today are coming up with such technologies which are beyond human control. The AI (Artificial intelligence) has already being implemented in industries, and AI has started replacing human tasks.  In future, if any steps will not be taken than technology will replace humans in doing many tasks. it means that the capability of humans to perform various tasks will decrease because after excessive dependence on technology humans will stop perform various tasks which they perform by themselves in the past (Qin, Liu, & Grosvenor, 2016).

In order to mitigate the negative impact of technology, humans will have to enhance their control over technology. The scientists can perform research regarding how technology can be used without reducing the abilities of human beings. The best way for this is to use the technology for such tasks which are highly difficult for the individuals or in which a high amount of accuracy is required. If people start using technology for the simplest tasks than not only they will decrease their own abilities but also it would be the wrong use of energy because many technologies today require a significant amount of power.

The control over technology is necessary because as discussed earlier, the technology has a major impact on society. If such technologies keep on emerging, which can have a harmful impact on the people, then society will be unable to take maximum benefit from technology. in the past, technology has improved the standard of living of people through providing a solution to the problem, but advancement in technology has brought its own issues such as over-dependence. The excess of everything is bad; therefore, there is a need to reduce the dependence of technology.

There is a need to create awareness regarding the technologies and their usage. People should know how much usage of technology is good and how excessive usage can lead to negative impacts. If people became aware of technology usage, then control over technology is possible. People will have to take some steps; otherwise, the end outcome will no longer be in control of the people. The heavy influence of technology can reduce the creativity and function of the human brain; therefore it is best to utilize the technology wisely and does not get heavily dependent on it (Vannoy & Palvia, 2010).

It is concluded that in the past the technology has revolutionized the world and help the individuals to solve many major problems. The technology has provided new opportunities to the people and improve their way of living.
