Introduction
Apple Inc. Company can be defined as a multinational technology company that is situated in the United States of America. The headquarters of this company is in Cupertino, California. This company deals with designing, developing, and selling the computer hardware, consumer electronics, and offering online services. Additionally, it is evident in every company, organization, or business there are mission and vision statement that guides the company’s management.
The mission statement can be termed as the statement that states the short-term objectives of the company. Henceforth, in Apple Inc. The company, here is the mission statement, “Apple develops and designs Macs, the best laptops or desktops in the entire world, along with iWork, iLife, and professional software. Apple Inc. The company leads the digital music revolution with its iTunes and iPods online store. Furthermore, Apple has reinvented the mobile phone with its revolutionary Apple Store and iPhone and thus defining the future of the computing devices and mobile media with iPad. (Rowland, 2017)”
Moreover, the vision statement can be defined as the long-term objectives of any company, organization or business. These are kind of targets that should be achieved within more than one year and above. In the case of Apple Inc. Company, its vision statement believes it will be on the face of the earth to come up with great products and not changing. It aims at focusing on being continuous in making innovations. It believes coming up with innovation is a complex thing. Additionally, it has this aim of owning and controlling all the primary technologies that are behind the products we make, and take part in the market where it can feel there is a significant contribution. This company says no to many projects so that it can focus on important and meaningful projects. Moreso, Apple Inc. The company does not settle or anything less than excellence in each group within a company, and it is guided by self-honesty to admit whenever it is wrong and work hard toward making a change.
After examining actions of Apple Inc. Company, it is evident that is exercising its roles and responsibilities in accordance with the mission and vision statements. For example, when it comes to innovations and designing the best products in the world, Apple company is the leading company among others such as Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, etc. More so, the mission and vision statement acts as the guidelines that direct company and its management on what should be done within a given period. In every action or operation is undertook by the company it is always concentrating on achieving certain set objectives, and in our cases, the objectives of the company are stated in the mission and vision statements (Ingenhoff & Fuhrer, 2010). Moreover, regarding short-term goals stated in the mission statement, Apple Inc. Company is firm in making sure that it produces the best products and online services. It is a fact that among the current mobile phones manufacturers, Apple is leading cell phone manufacturer because of creating the best software and hardware. Furthermore, it has been the leading company in coming up with the best technologies, and it has been highly investing in technology, thus being among the best companies.
Also, the mission and vision statement helps in guiding employees and managers what they are expected to do. The mission and vision statement, in other words, are the objectives and goals that are set by the company, therefore, if employees know what they are expected it will be easy for an organization to put its focus and concentration toward making sure it meets the set objectives (Pratap, 2016). The mission and vision statement acts as the roadmap for every manager while exercising his roles and responsibilities. These statements will help in serving as the guidelines for the way forward of any organizations.
Also, if the company fails to have the mission statement, it will be hard for the company to meet its short-term objectives. Furthermore, the company has the probability of losing its focus because it will be unable to concentrate on the common goal or purpose. The mission statement acts as the common objective for an existence of a particular company and what it lives for. Therefore, lack of mission statement will mean that entire organization will not be guided by the common objective, but instead, different employees, departments, and managers will exercise their roles and duties based on which goals they wish to accomplish rather than the stated one.
