Your task is to identify an appropriate framework for assessment of health system performance with the aim of planning and conducting a rapid health system performance assessment in your own country. You will choose a framework for assessment of health system performance, and then use it to conduct a rapid desktop assessment of the health system performance. 

evaluate both the opportunities and challenges for your selected health system using the framework you chose and include this evaluation within your brief. The briefing should be presented as a poster and be written in appropriate language for the intended audience (i.e. policy-makers). 

The assessment will serve as a briefing for policy-makers, so you should summarize your findings and recommendations. In a “rapid desktop”assessment of the health system performance, you are not expected to conduct primary data collection. 

Activities required to undertake this task successfully will include critically reviewing the existing literature and information available online and analysing relevant freely available secondary data.

Include brief explanation of your rationale for using a particular framework over others described in the literature, and why it’s appropriate for your setting. 

Description of methods and data sources to use, including which organisations you might work with in preparing the health system performance assessment using the dimensions of performance measurements you learned about. 

Assessment process of the information, data and evidence available to you to establish to what extent your health system is achieving its objectives. 

Synthesis of your findings to make recommendations regarding how you propose to maximize the performance in one, or all of the performance dimensions (dimension of health system performance measurement: (1) population health, (2) health services outcomes, (3) responsiveness and (4) financial protection.
