An advanced draft of this assignment is due to the Online Writing Lab (OWL) prior to 11:59 p.m. EST Sunday night.  Please follow these instructions when submitting drafts to OWL's Canvas site:

These step-by-step instructions will guide you in submitting your draft to the OWL:

1. Read the Guidelines within the modules section thoroughly before starting your draft (see below).  Pay close attention to the Due Dates for each assignment. Remember: drafts are due to OWL on specific weeks no later than SUNDAY at 11:59 pm.


2. Compose your memorandum draft. Please include the following information on your first page:
   
   
   
   1. Your First & Last Name
   
   
   2. Professor's Last Name / Course Number
   
   
   3. Date
   
   
   4. Creative Title Which Previews Your Original Thinking on the Topic  (centered) 
   
   
   
   


3. Save your draft as separate document as one the following file formats: .DOC, .DOCX, or .RTF. Include your Last Name and Topic Keyword within the filename.  For example: "Jones-PersonalNarrative.doc"


4. Complete the Critical Self-Reflection for EVERY assignment by clicking here (Links to an external site.). (Links to an external site.) This is worth 50% of the credit.


5. Click the appropriate Assignment, the one with the title of the essay assignment. You can find a list of these on the module below these instructions or you can click "Assignments" in the sidebar.
   
   


6. Upload your draft by clicking the red "Submit Assignment" button to upload the your document as a .doc, .docx, or .rtf file. Other file types will not be accepted.
   
   


7. Your OWL Writing Specialist will return a Letter of Analysis (LOA) about your draft within 4 days of the submission due date.  You will be able to download this letter from the same page where you submitted it. Look to the right of your draft and click on "Comments."
   
   


8. Review the Writing Specialist's letter of analysis carefully. Revise the draft using strategies and recommendations provided in the letter.


9. Always Submit your FINAL essay to your Instructor in ENGLISH 3107. (Your Writing Specialist will never ask you to submit a final draft to the Online Writing Lab.
