The Stanislaus Community Assistance Project has been renamed, has new leaders, and has moved to a new location. The agency was managed for eight years by an executive director and his wife, a grant writer. The agency came under scrutiny for a compensation deal that paid the director $627,000 for not spending public funds to renovate housing and also for deficiencies in managing dwellings remodeled through Modesto’s Neighborhood Stabilization Program. Employees or family members of the community assistance project lived in eight of the homes.
