Note to Students With Disabilities
Penn State welcomes students with disabilities into the University’s educational programs. If you have a disability-related need for modifications and/or reasonable accommodations in this course, please contact The Office for Student Disability Resources (OSDR) and visit their web site at www.equity.psu.edu/ods . Instructors should be notified as early in the semester as possible regarding the need for modification and/or reasonable accommodations.
In order to receive consideration for course accommodations, you must contact OSDR and provide documentation. If the documentation supports the need for academic adjustments, OSDR will provide a letter identifying appropriate academic adjustments. Please share this letter and discuss the adjustments with your instructor as early in the course as possible.
GRADING & Exam type:
Chem 110: Exams 1-5 (Each 100 pts): 500 pts
Exam 6 on solubility, colligative properties: 50 pts
EXAMS 1-6 (60 min for Ex 1, 75 min Ex 2-5, 50 min for Ex 6) can be taken any time between 6 AM and 10 PM on the dates specified below by logging in CANVAS. I recommend you to take the test at your earliest convenience. Each exam feedback can be seen 5 days after you take the test, which will close on the 7th day. While you are taking a test, please know that each question will appear one at a time with no back-tracking allowed (known to prevent cheating). So, answer a question before you move to the next one.
The average percent grades are calculated on the basis of performance in all 6 exams (maximum 550 Pts).
GRADING SCALE:
A 93-100% C+ 70-75%
A- 90-92% C 60-69%
B+ 86-89% D 50-59%
B 80-85% F 0-49%

MAKE-UP EXAM: These are allowed only on medical grounds or in unavoidable situations. In either case, the instructor should be informed on or before the exam date.
EXAM TYPE: Multiple choice type exams will be given on PSU CANVAS at a specific Eastern Time given below.
ACADEMIC INTEGRITY: All students are expected to act with civility, personal integrity; respect
other students' dignity, rights and property; and help create and maintain an environment in which all can
succeed through the fruits of their own efforts. An environment of academic integrity is requisite to respect for self and others and a civil community.
Academic integrity includes a commitment to not engage in or tolerate acts of falsification, misrepresentation or deception. Such acts of dishonesty include cheating or copying, plagiarizing, submitting another person's work as one's own, using Internet sources without citation, fabricating field data or citations, "ghosting" (taking or having another student take an exam), stealing examinations, tampering with the academic work of another student, facilitating other students' acts of academic dishonesty, etc.
Students charged with a breach of academic integrity will receive due process and, if the charge is found valid, academic sanctions may range, depending on the severity of the offense, from F for the assignment to F for the course.
The University's statement on academic integrity, from which the above statement is drawn, is available at http://www.psu.edu/dept/oue/aappm/G-9.html
