To complete this essay, you must use Crow Lake by Mary Lawson as the work provided. Read and follow the expectations for the Literary Exploration as set up in Unit 5, Topic 4 as they will be the basis for the evaluation of ALL of the Literary Exploration essays your write for this course, including the LE Essay on Part A Written of your Final Exam.

Kate says that ". . . understatement was the rule in our house. Emotions, even positive ones, were kept firmly under control." In this story, the "rule" these children learned in childhood influenced their relationships with each other and with people outside their family. What is your opinion of the idea that the influence of others can have a lasting effect?
