Anthropology Latino History Essay OUTLINE!
In my outline, I have already made my version, you can use it as a sample, but you need to give me a new outline that comes up with different arguments, evidence, and explanations!!!!
Please follow the grading rubric!
This is a research outline, so there you should write and cite the arguments from the assigned readings! Same with the evidence, ideas should all come from those assigned readings. About the explanation part, this is the words from your own, to relate and explain why this evidence could relate to the myth I write.
IMPORTANTLY, the argument should be held AGAINST the myth by saying "NO, Latino immigrants are not taking advantage of the US economic system". And these three arguments are actually the topic sentences from the three evidences & explanations which will be developed into three different body paragraphs.
Also, arguments should be distinct from one another, similar arguments will account for redundant & repetitive ideas and this is not allowed!!
Second IMPORTANT thing is, you SHOULDN'T cite any outside resources! All ideas should come from the assigned readings I provide you and all citations should come from the assigned reading. No outside citations resources allowed!!!
I have posted the "writing assignment-debunking immigrants" which has the essay explanations, requirements, grading rubric, etc. Also, I'll post the addition outline grading rubric and citation guide.
DUE is on 10/11th Friday by 11:30 am.
so;
1. NO OUTSIDE RESOURCE
2. ASSIGNED READING ONLY
3. ALL IDEAS CAN ONLY COME FROM THE ASSIGNED READINGS
4. 3 ARGUMENTS ARE ACTUALLY THE TOPIC SENTENCES OF 3 DIFFERENT EVIDENCE WHICH THEN BE WROTE INTO 3 BODY PARAGRAPHS.
5. ARGUMENTS SHOULD BE DIFFERENT AND DISTINCT FROM ONE ANOTHER!
6. ARGUMENTS SHOULD BE HELD AGAINST WITH THE MYTH
7. EVIDENCE WORKS AS approval for 3 arguments.
8. EXPLANATIONS WORKS AS explaining the evidences of how it relates to the topic against the myth.
9. The citation should be given a specific page number! And need APA 6th style in the references.
10. This outline should be 1-2 pages long, you can use bullet points, but needed to be in a full sentence structure!!
11. ASK ME IF YOU HAVE ANY CONFUSION! Because I have worked with three different writers, and they didn't read the instructions I have posted, plz read them! If you read them you will not have any problem writing this outline.
12. The related assigned readings are "Suarez-Orozco", "Lima-transnationalism", "9-WCIA Dallas Strategic plan" but also you can use the other reading you want from the book "The Columbia History of Latinos" chapter 1-8, "Graves" "Holloway" "Kibria" "Cobas" "Flores" "Omi and Winant" "Rumbaut". Just choose whatever ideas or evidences you think is distinguishing and against the topic.
13. The first "Dishan Outline" is my own version. You can see my ideas and evidences and think if need to change it. But you need to find a new assigned reading to keep updating my ideas. That's how you should do.
Myth Outlining Worksheet
What is your myth?
-A common myth about immigration is Latino immigrants are just seen as coming to the US to take advantage of the US economic system.
What is your argument about your myth? (Should be two to three concise sentences.)
-This is wrong/mostly false because the Latino labor immigrant isn’t the first group of labor immigrants which is mostly Asian.
-They are constantly employed back from the reverse immigrants’ trends because of their vital economical position on America economy.
-Latino immigrants are improving the US economic market by extending the Latino customer market and provide job opportunities.
What pieces of evidence are you using to prove your argument?
1.
a. Evidence:
i. -The “first group of labor migrants was recruited by employers after earlier groups of immigrant workers like the Chinese, Japanese, and Sikhs were barred to the United States by a series of restrictive immigration laws passed between the 1880s and the early 1900s”. (CHL, Gutierrez, p. 44)
ii. -And “reginal employers [then] sought to replace the unskilled or semiskilled Asian laborers that were so vital to regional economic development”. (CHL, Gutierrez, p. 44)
iii. -Although government paused the sharply rising population of Mexican by realized that grossing number of unemployment of Americans, the transient “reverse migration” to Mexico proves that “how dependent the US economy had become on Mexican workers. (CHL, Gutierrez, p. 45)
iv.
b. Explanation – how does this evidence support your thesis?
i. The fact proves that Mexico labor immigrants which is also Latino immigrants are not coming to the US and take advantage of the US economic system. However, these group of labor force are needed for American employers to become a qualified substitute of other labor forces such as “unskilled or semiskilled Asian laborers” (CHL, Gutierrez, p. 44). And this fact proves that how much America is dependent on the Mexican people.

2.
a. Evidences:
i. The Latino people have entered in the U.S and they are taking advantage and costing America a big loss is a wrong conception. Real stats show that the Advertisers are committed to tapping rapidly expanding the Latino consumer market that is currently estimated to be well in excess of dollar 500 billion a year. Spanish language media are also expanding the cost of Latino writers, artists, singers and actors and they allow a large amount of population of the audience including the non-Latino people. b. Explanation – how does this evidence support your thesis?
i. The facts prove that a large number of noncitizens are improving the U.S economy as the demand rates of them have become high and they are also proving to be a good change in culture and businesses. American’s reaping the benefits and demanding high prices for advertisements and other projects. 3.
a. Evidences:
i. The American community is getting full of Latino people and Mexicans. The different demographic, analytical and imaginary approach to Latino unity and diversity deepen and complicate the situation of showing and understanding the culture. However, the immigrants are making huge profits to economy. They work without discriminating the race, sex and caste of people. They work as the skilled employees. However, to those groups who make, and mark differences, they’re showing the bad image of themselves. (The Latino imaginary, Juan Flores, page 185, 186)
b. Explanation – how does this evidence support your thesis?
i. These facts prove that American community is under threat that immigrants might take over their identities. They feel that Mexicans and Latino will be in charge, and they will apply their cultures. But the fact is that they are honest people and providing America a huge profit every year. But some groups are showing the bad image of them and creates a myth that they are burden on America.

4.
a. Evidences:
i. The Latin people are making good impacts on the country as the females are also working hard in spite of low payments and low-ranking jobs in America. They are promoting the American culture and have given the profits by 20 percent more every year. They proved that they are skilled and show how to remove the difference that women are for house and men are for the workplace.
b. Explanation – how does this evidence support your thesis?
i. These facts prove that Latino immigrants are making the country proud in spite of low payments, and low ranking jobs, but they are working as more skilled workers as compared to others and play important role in growth of economies and profits. Fact is that American are threaten to accept them because they fear that their population might control the America’ s every department. But facts prove that they are working as hard as the Americans.
