You are welcome to use any characteristics, even those not typical of most published dichotomous keys, and are encouraged to use the characteristics with which you feel most comfortable. However, please select sensible characteristics that are easily and readily identifiable. Photos and drawings are encouraged but not required. You can submit the final key as a Word, PDF or PowerPoint file, or as a clear scanned copy of something created on paper. A small number of the species may be unfamiliar and therefore you will have to become familiar with them before completing the assignment.
