This lab report must be written in APA format. The text should be double spaced, except in Tables where single spacing is required. It should have an introduction, materials/methods, results, discussion, acknowledgments, and references sections – see below for details.
In the introduction, the expectation of results and background of mendelian genetics should be introduced and discussed. The materials/methods are the procedures used to care and identify the flies. The results section will be split into two parts, the F1 generation results and the F2 generation results. The fly report should include the raw data from fly counts, images of the flies, observations, and Punnett squares with chi-square analysis in the results as well. When giving raw data do not place a large table taking up multiple pages showing the fly counts, give a concise raw data or points will be taken off. The discussion should include, but is not limited to, a comparison of the results obtained with the theoretical expectations made. Be sure to include a title page!
