What is a Bar/Gantt Chart

Gantt Chart is a simple bar chart
was introduced by Henry Gantt around 1910 – 1915
Simply method to illustrates a project schedule
a common technique to represent the phases and activities of WBS
Illustrates the relationship between project activities & time
Can show the multiple project activities on one chart
Provides a simple & easy way to understand activities and timing

Two methods

1. Forward Schedule: Starting the chart with a given start date and moving forward until the given deadline

2. Backward Schedule: Starting with the final deadline and logically working backwards to find the start date.
