Student 1:

I think that one essential difference between these two organizations are their goal/mission statements.

Commonwealth Health Corporation’s mission statement is “to care for people and improve quality of life extends well beyond The Medical Center to a diverse group of subsidiaries that meet the needs of individuals and businesses in this ever-changing healthcare landscape.”

Graves Gilbert Clinic’s mission statement is “to provide sensitive, compassionate care to our patients with respect to the total well being of the individual.”

Another essential difference between these two organizations are that Commonwealth Health Corporation is not-for-profit, while Graves Gilbert Clinic is for-profit.

Commonwealth Health Corporation and Graves Gilbert Clinic both stated that they strive to care for the patients and their well being. Commonwealth Health Corporation’s mission statement goes a little further to say that they extend care to a diverse group to meet the needs of the community. Graves Gilbert Clinic only discusses providing adequate care to each patient.

I had been seeing the same pediatrician my whole life, and I recently had to switch my primary care physician in the Graves Gilbert Clinic. I was very nervous considering I had never really seen another primary care physician; however, I had a wonderful experience and truly felt like my new primary care physician provided compassion and respect to my total well being. She went through my whole family medical history with me and showed me my chart in the health portal. I appreciated that she showed me those things, especially when I know she had other patients to see. I believe she most definitely lived up to GGC's mission statement. I am not saying that my pediatrician did not provide the same care. He by far did, but I just wanted to share a more recent experience.

Student 2:

A. There are many differences between Common Health Corporation and Graves Gilbert Clinic. For example, CHC is a not for profit place that is classified as a hospital. It has different areas that provide all different types of care. From ambulatory surgery, the ER, and the cancer center. There are many different aspects of care. They cover man different services and since it is a hospital, they are able to admit people for over night stays. Where as Graves Gilbert is a private owned clinic that is just for people to come there, they are seen by the physician and they ae prescribed their medications and sent home. Now, Graves Gilbert does have many different specialties, for example, Pediatricians, Endocronologists and Neurologist. If a physician at graves gilbert find something that is wrong with you and is out of their hands, they will send you to the emergency room.

B. Both Graves Gilbert and CHC have missions that are alike, they both want to be able to provide care to their patients. They both want to be able to help you and find out the problem when you are sick or have something going on with you. The Medical center s goal is to care for people and improve the quality of life as stated on their website. Graves Gilbert’s goal is more to focus on caring for you why you are there and trying to help with your needs. Graves Gilbert can’t focus as much on the quality of life because they don’t provide as much care as the Medical Center can.

C. I have been to both places many of times, I have my doctor that I see regularly at Graves Gilbert, and I have been quite a few times to the ER at the Medical Center. The medical center is who I have my health insurance through. I feel like both places are very professional and are trying their best to provide the best care for you.
