In the past two modules you learned about the geology of Yosemite National Park in the Sierra Nevada Range and Death Valley National Park in the Basin and Range Province. For this exam you are to explore the geology and tectonic setting of Sequoia – Kings Canyon National Park, which is in the Sierra Nevada Range west of Death Valley.
You should use a variety of sources (National Park Service, U.S. Geological Survey, other science articles, your text book, etc.) to research the geology of this National Park. For this exam assignment you will write an essay of approximately 1000-1500 words describing the geology of Sequoia – Kings Canyon National Park. Your sources will need to be referenced in any standard in line format that allows them to be verified.
As part of your essay be sure to explain any similarities or differences between the geology of Sequoia – Kings Canyon National Park and Yosemite National Park, and how the tectonic setting might be related to lithospheric extension in the Death Valley region.
A complete list of citations should be included at the end of the essay. Your work must be original and will be checked with Turnitin. The citation list should not be included in the 1000-1500 words limit for the essay.
