CREATING A SELF-RUNNING PRESENTATION

GETTING STARTED
Open the file SC_PPT16_7a_FirstLastName_1.pptx, available for download from the SAM website.

Save the file as SC_PPT16_7a_FirstLastName_2.pptx by changing the “1” to a “2”.

0. If you do not see the .pptx file extension in the Save As dialog box, do not type it. The program will add the file extension for you automatically.

With the file SC_PPT16_7a_FirstLastName_2.pptx still open, ensure that your first and last name is displayed in the presenter notes on Slide 1.

· If the presenter notes do not display your name, delete the file and download a new copy from the SAM website.

PROJECT STEPS
In Gear Auto Restore partners with a Pittsburg-area community college and offers internship programs for students interested in restoring vintage and classic cars. You need to put the final touches on the presentation describing the program and this summer’s internships. Begin by adding an animation as follows:

a. On Slide 1 (“SUMMER INTERNSHIPS”), change the duration of the man welding picture animation to 00.75.

b. In the Animation pane, move the man welding picture animation up above the woman polishing picture animation.

On Slide 2 (“INTERNSHIPS”), adjust the car motion path animation by clicking the motion path ending point and then dragging it to the left side of the slide, as shown in Figure 1 on the next page. (Hint: Only move the red end point of the motion path. If you accidentally drag any other point on the motion path, press CTRL+Z to undo that action and try again.)

With Slide 2 still displaying, dim the bulleted list Enhancements After animation color to Orange (7th color in the color gallery).

On Slide 3 (“ASSOCIATE OF ARTS DEGREE…”), animate the laser cutter picture as follows:

c. Apply the Shape Entrance animation [Mac Hint – Shape Basic animation].

d. Apply the Diamond Shapes effect option.

On Slide 4 (“DIVERSE OFFERINGS”), animate the SmartArt as follows:

e. Apply the Wheel Entrance animation [Mac Hint – Wheel Basic animation].

f. Apply the 8 Spokes effect option.

g. Apply the One by One Sequence effect option.

On Slide 5 (“HONORS PROGRAM”), use the Animation Painter to apply the title text animation to the subtitle text animation for consistency.

With Slide 5 still displaying, apply the Float In Entrance animation to the hot rod picture [Mac Hint – Float In Moderate animation].

On Slide 6 (“HOOD ORNAMENT ART”), format the archer ornament picture as follows:

h. Use the center-bottom cropping handle to crop the picture to a height of 3".

i. Apply the Split Exit animation to the archer ornament picture [Mac Hint – Split Basic animation].

Set the Transitions Advance Slide timing for all slides to After 00:03.00.

On Slide 2 (“INTERNSHIPS”) only, set the Transitions Advance Slide timing to After 00:04.00.

In Slide Sorter view, your presentation should look like the Final Figure below. Save your changes, close the presentation, and then exit PowerPoint. Follow the directions on the SAM website to submit your completed project.
