Question Description
Create Your Own Civilization Activity Your job is to create your own civilization. You will have to try and create a civilization based off of the 6 characteristics of a civilization. (Art, specific jobs, complex institutions, cities, language and writing, and technology) Your civilization will need to be developed in the year 5000B.C. Your task is to use the Jamboard app (in partners) or Notability to draw out what your civilization might look like. You will need to decide the following questions while creating your civilization and include them in your drawing. Your drawing can be multiple notes or pages if you are struggling fitting it all on one note.
SPECIALIZED WORKERS: How many people will be in your civilization? Do you want a small population or Large? What jobs will people do?
ADVANCED CITIES: Where would it be set up? Look at a world map and pick a good location. What resources would you need? What kind of geography would you want to set up your civilization with? What kind of defense do you need? Man made or natural? How will you trade? What goods and materials will be needed? How will you produce them? How much land do you need? A few square miles? Hundreds of square miles?
COMPLEX INSTITUTIONS: How would the government be set up? One ruler? Voting? Hereditary? Will there be a formal religion? One God(Monotheistic)?, many Gods (Polytheistic)?, or freedom to worship whatever you wish.
TECHNOLOGY: What will you do for a currency? Paper or bartering? What would be your fancy technology (remember its only 5000 BC)?
RECORD KEEPING/WRITING: What language will you use to communicate and write things down? Spoken and written? ART/ARCHITECTURE: What art is your society known to produce? (you can even draw some if your are artistic) Any building or landmarks that you will be known for like the Great wall of China, Stonehenge, Egypt’s Pyramids, the OFPD Rocket?
