* Leadership and influence

XXXXXXX is looking for individuals who will be future leaders or influencers in their home countries. Explain how you meet this requirement, using clear examples of your own leadership and influencing skills to support your answer.

(minimum word count: 400 words, maximum word count: 500 words)

Leadership means a lot to me and I am interested in it since I was a child. I believe that I have the skills of persuasion and influence on others and I work hard to develop them by reading and attending courses. I enjoy leading and managing teams, events and take initiative to speak and guide whenever I have the opportunity. 

During my undergraduate study and after attending a lecture, I used to dive into the Internet and go deeper into the lecture topic, bring many examples and easier ways to understand it, print them out them and share them with my classmates. 

I contribute and initiate positive ideas to serve the community. Five years ago, when I first came to Turkey, a country that host 3.5 million refugees, admission in the Turkish universities was Almost impossible for thousands of refugee and foreign students due to lack of information and poor communication with Turkish universities due to the need for Turkish language. So, I did a deep research and got the common admission requirements then I published a 27-page guide that guides foreign students and saves them time and money. The guide has achieved thousands of views online so after that I created a website with more details about 150 Turkish universities.  

My leadership, communication and management skills have improved greatly after I joined a 144-hour course in Leadership Engineering provided by Human Restart organization and I got the highest score among the course participants. After that, I was selected 2 times to be a member of the admission committee of the course.  

In this course I met new friends from different countries and we established a volunteer team (InsanTeam) which support, train, guide and provide helping hands to the refugees in the city where I live and I worked with them for 1 year. It was one of the important years in my life and during it we were taking turns in leading the team, conducting interviews with the new volunteers and trying to bring their experience and skills into the community. We have organized many activities and met with organizations and businessmen to fund our activities.

I make suggestions at work to make the performance better and I share with my team documentations of the new solutions I find. I enjoy sharing information and training new employees without even having the task assigned to me. A few days ago, I have been selected as the best performer employee in the team for the last 3 months even though the team has seniors joined many years before I did.  

I have had the opportunity to study Masters in Iraq and Turkey but not the desire as I have been looking for an opportunity to study in the UK for many years. I am very aware that studying in the UK will give me many benefits, not just education. I will have the opportunity to get close to professional British organizations, meet students from all over the world and exchange experiences.
