While I agree it is hard to see outsourcing of US jobs to other countries, I do not believe the government should have the power to regulate outsourcing unless we (as a country) are bound by a sanction due to national security. All other forms of restrictions from our government goes against the free world premises. I do think our government can subsidize or give tax breaks to organizations that keep their workforce within our boarders to help make up for some of the cost savings that companies may find if outsourcing to other countries.
I agree with John Stossel in his response to CNN’s Lou Dobbs that “its restricting outsourcing that would be un-American and stupid” (ABC News special report, 02 May 2009, 1:36-1:40). Government restriction goes against a free society structure. I worry that if the government gets the right to restrict outsourcing, where does that stop and to what level will imports from foreign companies take over the sales industry here because they are able to create the same products at a lower cost elsewhere. This too would create a loss of industry and therefore jobs within the United States. Restricting outsourcing is not a solution to the loss of jobs that leave this country it would close companies currently operating here due to higher costs for the companies.
I also believe that the market will help to regulate itself. Where there are jobs that leave this country, there is also room for new innovation to take place on US soil. Each industry has their own challenges and because of technology and cost-effective transportation, we are part of a world community and therefore outsourcing is inevitable. Kimberly Amadeo, writer for “The Balance” (on-line magazine), writes in her piece How Outsourcing Jobs Affects the U.S. Economy, “Education, rather than protectionism, is the best way to both take advantage of technology and create jobs for U.S. workers” as she invites her readers to address the use of robots instead of U.S. workers in many jobs as an issue equal to if not worse than outsourcing jobs for Americans. She claims that instead of restricting outsourcing, Americans need to continue educating themselves for future job needs such as technicians and other information technology careers to harness the robot era currently taking over jobs in this country.

I feel that outsourcing can be good and bad for the economy. It can be good when companies are in their beginning stage and are getting their start. This allows them to grow faster and accumulate the funds needed to do what they want to do with their business. I think it is very cool when companies choose to provide work to their local communities instead of paying someone half as much in another country. It is great when people can start up a company through outsourcing and then shift the company back or use the funds to help the economy of their home country. Outsourcing is bad when people get drunk on the money and just decide to use whatever means necessary to make the most money regardless of who they are taking advantage of. I understand that a business owner’s job is to make money for the company to keep it afloat but it is still important to think about the broader picture of the economy and the people who make it run.

I agree with John Stossel, Outsourcing is really good thing for the economy of the country and for the people, Because the companies who do outsourcing are growing way faster than the ones who are keeping their workers in the U.S. Firs when the companies do outsourcing they are saving tones of money beacuse the people on the other countries don't have jobs and they are will to work the cheapest and lowest salary for these companies and they won't pay the crazy taxes they were paying when they are in the U.S, from those parts they are saving good amount of money. When they ship the products back to the country they will sell decent price to the citizen which helps both sides they are making profit and they are helping the lower class people who are not afford to buy expensive products. It more job opportunities in the country and the employers can pay the American employees good salaries and they can even give them raise any time they want because they company is making great profit so that is advantage. Outsourcing is never disaster beacuse it is helping more companies to stay in their feet and stay in the market, I would say Americans have to be strong and more perfect so that they can keep their best jobs in here.
