My topic is Special Education & Learning Disabilities

I already know the following about this topic:

· Institutions have plans and strategies to support learners with disabilities.

· Learners with learning disabilities face challenges while interacting with other learners because they feel rejected.

· The time special needs education introduced in both public and private learning institutions.

· Most learners with disabilities can perform well when they get help from other learners and their teachers.

· Various learning institutions have programs that allow learners with learning disabilities to go about their studies without many challenges.

This is what I want to know about my topic:

1. Why do schools fail to admit learners with special needs in learning, yet they get full support from the government to help them offer education to learners with disabilities?

2. What are the current trends in the education of learners with learning disabilities?

3. Why do most public schools fail to offer special needs education, yet most learners cannot afford to get admission to private schools that provide special needs training?

4. Is it true that the environments in which learners get exposure to playing a role in the determination of their learning disabilities?

5. How is the society performing its role in ensuring that learners with disabilities get the type of help they need to acquire education effectively.

6. How do teachers determine the level of learning disability that a learner is suffering from?

What I learned when exploring my topic through the social science lens:

· Some schools fail to admit learners with disabilities due to the lack of teachers who can effectively handle learners with learning disabilities since such learners need close monitoring to get guidance on what they can do and what not to do foe effective learning.

· There are various programs adopted in both public and private institutions to help teachers guide learners with learning disabilities to improve the cognitive skills that can help them improve their learning experience.

· Current trends in technology contribute much to the teaching and learning of learners with disabilities in society, especially at school. Technological changes help learners access learning materials for self-evaluation and boost their learning skills.

Despite the expenses of ensuring that learners effectively learn, teachers and management of learning institutions ensure that they do their best in ensuring that learners get enough support in their learning experience.
