· Identify the problem/concern: (Identify a problem you have noticed that you would liked changedand describe it)
· State your proposal/idea. (Create a proposal that you would like to see made into a law related to your problem. This can be your community or state or the country)
BACKGROUND: DO YOUR RESEARCH
· Include studies, reports, personal experience, or anecdotal stories related to your proposal. Look for other related studies, or provide personal experience either by you or someone your know.
· Has there been similar legislation introduced and/or passed in other states? If so, include it. Look for similar laws or legislation from other states
ASSESSMENT: FINANCES AND STAKEHOLDERS
· Identify financial impact if any (e.g., added costs, cost savings, increased revenue):
· Identify stakeholder groups that would support this bill: Name people or groups who would like and support this
· Identify people/groups that would oppose this bill: Name people or groups who would not like or who would not support this
RECOMMENDATION
· Make an appointment with your legislator to discuss your proposal.
You do not have to make an appt with the legislature.
Provide a name of a legislature in your state, it does not have to be a nurse.
Provide phone #, address, email of the legislature
