   Respond to the video by picking One option from the following two options:
   
   1- Your friend believes that slavery ended completely with the 13th amendment and that racism ended in the 1960s. Use main ideas from the movie to explain to your friend that this is not the case and that racist policies have been targeting Blacks throughout history until today. Give at least three specific historic and political examples from the movie of how racism continued. How did the different policies (starting from the 13th amendment) affect the lives of Black people? Refer to specific quotes and include time stampe to prove your argument.    2- In the video, one of the analysts explains that the myth (false belief) of Black people as dangerous criminals stemmed from the reality that “the White political elite and the business establishment needed Black bodies working” (6:00-6:09). Explain why it was important for political and economic reasons to create and continue to spread images of Blacks as criminals. What were the images that were spread by the media across history? Start with the movie "Birth of a Nation" and track images until modern times (as shown in the movie). Include the reason behind these images as explained in the movie as well.
