Asthma: A genetic conditions affecting more than 25 million people in the US. The disease makes airways inflame and/or produce excess mucus that cause breathing difficulties. The disease pathophysiology involves an autoimmune response or hypersensitivity to common substances in the patient’s environment.
Three main pulmonary test functions are used in the diagnosis of asthma:
· Spirometry to determine the speed of inflow and outflow of air into the lungs.
· Measuring the levels of exhaled nitric acid gas from the lungs
· Challenge test where mannitol or methacholine chemicals are used to check the ability of lungs to withstand challenges.

The teaching for a patient with asthma include:
1. Control of asthma triggers: there are different categories of triggers that asthma patients must be aware of. These include allergens such as dust, pollen, respiratory infections, cold air, certain drugs, physical activity, stress and in some women menstruation.
2. Monitoring of symptoms of asthma: The patient must understand the symptoms of asthma and monitor them. Keeping a diary is often recommended. Symptoms should be used to determine the type of medication that a patient will take.
3. Medication for quick relief of asthma attacks: These include bronchodilators such as Ventolin, ProAir, Proventil and Xopenex, and steroids to reduce inflammation.
4. Also, it is noteworthy that some conditions need more vigilance to control asthma. These include pregnancy and exercise

The app provide advice and information on cancer management.
It’s aimed for use by audience who are aged twelve years and above.
It adds onto symptom hence applying Artificial Intelligence to ensure constant health checks. The application can be downloaded from https://mymhealth.com/myasthma
In the app, there is educational material for management of asthma including symptoms, correct use of inhalers, and actions to take in case of an attack.
It also has a diary to help track symptoms including lung function.
myAsthma also gives weather forecast and advises patients accordingly to ensure they follow the right regime depending on the weather forecast.
The app connects the patient with the doctor to help in the management of the disease.
