38 3 Project Outline (Week 1) 1.0 Project Description Perkins Restaurant and Bakery is a sit-down restaurant with from scratch cooking and bakery items sold to the public. Recently, due to the public health issue, Perkins has decided there is a need for an improved system of service. An online ordering system needs to be created so customers can order meals or bakery items online and could pay for them with a credit/debit card. The order should be able to go to the store closest to the customer so there should be a store locator (which is already on the main website), but this location system should be able to send the order to that stores location. (Herz 2020) 1.1 Purpose The purpose of the Perkins Online Ordering system is to offer an efficient way for customers to order online without having to dine in. Also, this will open the revenue avenue and reach a larger group of customers. The project will allow Perkins Restaurant and Bakery to reach new heights within the competitive market. 1.2 Deliverables Perkins’ online ordering system is expected to provide a high-quality ordering system. This ordering system will reduce the number of Dine-Ins and offer a no contact pickup to align with the current culture. Deliverables expected from the project completion are: • Quality Online Ordering System to enhance the customers' experience. • Enhanced Customer Service will be provided to the customer by meeting the standard of providing multiple options for dining at the restaurant. • There will be no extra workload to the staff with an efficient system. • Allow a technological push into the competitive market. 4 • Allow networking through all locations with the integrated site. • Improvement opportunities to the menu through customer online reviews. • Reduce/Maintain the operating costs by allowing a higher revenue stream. 1.3 Objectives The main objective of the online ordering system is to produce an efficient online ordering system. Alongside the main objective, other objectives regarding the quality of the system must be met. system will allow the consumer to choose the prefer location. This system will be efficient with staff productivity and allow the staff to easily find, fill and deliver orders. The system must comply with all company policies and practices and integrate well with the existing systems.
