Course: New Tech Bus Leaders (BLCN-635-01)

Provide a reflection of at least 500 words (or 2 pages double spaced) of how the knowledge, skills, or theories of this course have been applied or could be applied, in a practical manner to your current work environment. Requirements:

Use of proper APA formatting and citations. If supporting evidence from outside resources is used those must be properly cited.

Share a personal connection that identifies specific knowledge and theories from this course.

Demonstrate a connection to your current work environment. If you are not employed, demonstrate a connection to your desired work environment. 

You should NOT provide an overview of the assignments assigned in the course. The assignment asks that you reflect how the knowledge and skills obtained through meeting course objectives were applied or could be applied in the workplace. 

The assignment will be graded using the following criteria:

Grammar/Spelling/Citation: Make sure all work is grammatically correct, spelling is 100% accurate, and cite all sources in-text/at the end of the paper where applicable. 

Technical Connection: Make the paper relevant to the course and its connection with your current classwork. Discuss how what you have learned can be applied to your work or future work. 

Word Count: The minimum word count is 500 words. 350-500 will receive 50% credit. Anything below will receive a minimum number of points.

Syllabus:

This introductory course is developed for high level business people (and those on their way) who want a broad understanding of new Information Technologies and understand their potential for business functions (e.g. marketing, supply change management, finance). From Blockchain over Artificial Intelligence to Virtual Reality technologies: This course will empower business leaders to embrace the concepts and bring the state of the art information technologies into their organizations to improve client and customer engagement and ultimately the bottom line of their businesses. Instead of digital disruption, the new technologies and management methods will become the foundation of a Digital Transformation journey for better customer relationship management and client satisfaction.  This course is not a deep technical curriculum, but rather is focused on helping executive grasp the technologies’ potential in their own area of expertise. 

Outcomes:

Learners will become acclimated with the business systems and processes that are required in core industries to operate successfully. As part of the course, the learner will be:

•  Be able to better select personal and enterprise computing technologies

•  Be able to more acclimated to advanced topics on data-centric topics including business intelligence, AI, and data science. 

•  Be able to engage in conversations pertaining to social, mobile, cloud, and security in the context of the IT enterprise

•  Be more equipped as business professionals to address non-technical audiences on how to implement advanced information systems.
