You need to apply leadership theories and reflect on the following three parts:
Part One:
1. Introduction (3-5 sentences):
Introduce the importance of the topic about leadership, communication and conflict management. Interpret the purpose of the writing Include the Thesis Statement.
2. Background Paragraphs (5-8 sentences):
Definition of the topic (paraphrased with citation) from credible sources such as Academic Article, Books, Official Websites, Magazines, Newspapers, Dictionary or Encyclopedia.
Detailed info on the topic (i.e. the author credibility paraphrased with citation)
Summary of Chapter 6 and Chapter 7
Transition sentence guides to main body paragraphs.
Part Two
1st Body Paragraph: choose the most significant ideas, scenes, characters, or features in chapter 6 to respond to it.
- Assertion (define a word or a phrase as your main take away from chapter 6)
- Explanation (explain your assertion)
- Evidence (quote from the chapter 6 textbook with citation)
- Emotional(such as a sense of anger or sorrow or hope)
- Intellectual(such as a new perspective, a connection to a theory, a concept, an interesting observation)
- Comparative( find a public leader as an example to support your discussion. such as relating to another situation, another country, culture, or language)
- Connection (summarize in one sentence how the paragraph proved the assertion/thesis)
2nd Body Paragraph: Choose another specific idea/situation/quote from chapter 7 and respond to it.
- Assertion (define a word or a phrase as your main take away from chapter 6)
- Explanation (explain your assertion)
- Evidence (quote from chapter 7 of the textbook with citation)
- Emotional (such as a sense of anger or sorrow or hope)
- Intellectual (such as a new perspective, a connection to a theory, a concept, an interesting observation)
- Personal (such as relating to something that happened to you previous or your current working experience)
- Connection (summarize in one sentence how the paragraph proved the assertion/thesis)
Each body paragraph needs to build connections to the thesis and show how the research proves what you have discovered. Each paragraph should include multiple citations and layers of research evidence.
Part Three
Conclusion: The concluding paragraph is brief (3-4 sentences). It is a simple summary of your essay. Focus on how the prompt helped you gain a new understanding. Just restate your thesis (in a new, fresh way) and any conclusions you have drawn.
