General Purpose: My general purpose is to persuade the audience about an issue related to food desert.

Specific Purpose: My specific purpose is to persuade the audience that Healthy food was more important in our life. It’s not always easy, and healthy diet can be the smartest decision.

Introduction

I. Attention getter: Imagine you are living in the food desert where you can’t find fresh vegetables and convenient store. You start to rely on the fast food McDonald’s around you. You start getting heavier and heavier, you start to lose all your motivation of living and learning. Your life is getting worse and worse. If there is a way to make your life healthier, Isn’t that great? Forget about junk food and start a healthy life.

II. Thesis: Healthy food have transformed traditional food

III. Credibility statement: I have done extensive research on the topic, it is also something I am very interested in.

1. Main point #1：People living in food desert area are lack of fresh food market. People over there are poor than other place. One of the reason may because they lack of healthy food. Healthy Food can help you increase productivity. Our brain Look like a car, we need quality fuel to run efficiently. When we during work, we need more energy to help us earn more. How much can eat healthy help? One 2012 study published by Population Health Management found that eating an unhealthy diet puts you at 66% increased risk of productivity loss. Another study in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine found that an unhealthy diet represented the highest risk for low productivity out of 19 possible risk factors, including lack of exercise, chronic pain and financial instability.

2. Main point #2: I People want to look good, working out and eating right can help you look and feel good. When you are shopping for life insurance, the life insurer will likely ask for permission to get your medical records, and may require a life insurance medical exam. You could face double the life insurance cost if you’re obese. Eating help could significantly lower your costs.

3. Main point #3: If you choose healthy food, you will have chance to regulate your weight, and live longer. According to a research, more than half of Americans are overweight or obese, and obesity contributes to nearly 1 in 5 American deaths. Some healthy choices such as replacing soda with water, choosing vegetable instead of chips, and ordering a side salad in place of fries not only help you lose weight, but also help you save money.
