Date of Submission
In this paper, I am going to look at the exportation of soya beans to Pakistan. Pakistan can also be termed as the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. This country is found in South Asia, with a population of over 212.2 million people. The government has a size of 881913 square kilometers. Basing on its size, Pakistan is ranked as number 33 in size across the world. Soya bean is a species of leguminous plants which is mainly planted for its seeds. Soya beans are rich in oil, which makes its demand on the rise each day. Pakistan is estimated to have imported soya beans of around 2.6 million tons between 2018 to 2019.
In 2019, around 400000 tons of soya beans were imported from June to December. This implies that there is a high demand for soya beans in the area. The increase in demand for soya beans can be attributed to the increasing use of these products for domestic use, industrial use, and animal feed, (Awan, et al, 2016).
Modernization and poultry and dairy farming in Pakistan have significantly led to the increase in demand for soya beans hence its importation. This is because soya beans are rich in proteins, which facilitates the formation of eggs and milk production by dairy cattle. For human consumption, soya beans are used in Pakistan in productio9n of soya sausage. Despite the significant efforts put in place by the agriculture sector in Pakistan in the production of soya, it faces challenges since its soil does not favor the growth of the plant

The culture of the people of Pakistan, in most cases, deals with the disbursement of the lion’s share of foreign exchange to import oil and oilseeds feeds, especially for the animals. This is important as it helps fulfill the needs of domestic animals and chickens. Soybean, which is the most grown crop in Pakistan, is an oilseed that has the potential to fill the gaps that are existing as a result of high demand throughout the world. This crop was introduced in Pakistan during the early 1960s. The crop contains 40-42% protein, 20-22% oil contents, and 20-30% carbohydrates. It also has got many other valuable components that make the crop worthwhile throughout Pakistan and the whole world at large, (Asif, et al, 2017).
The harvest has been given another name as the miracle crop because they believe that the crop will be a potential food provider crop in the future. The cultivation has remained so far from the time of introduction until the 1970s. This was when there were trials for the crops in terms of adaptability and the capacity of the harvest to produce. This was important so that people can decide whether they are going as per the cultivation they will live there.
During the onset of the century, however, the cultivation of soya bean was halted, and after sometimes there was the disappearance of the crop from Pakistan. This has made the crop to face a lot of challenges in their production despite the usage of so many agrochemicals for the sake of production. There are potential recommendations that have been given to the Pakistan government to boost its productivity.

According to legit records from the World Bank and projections from Trading Economics, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Pakistan turned into really worth 278.22 billion US dollars in 2019. The GDP value of Pakistan represents 0.23 percent of the world economy
There has been a rapid growth of animal agriculture, especially the tame ones. This has been through the help of very supportive USSEC programs, which has several activities, such as policy formulation workshops. These workshops have got an aim, which is to teach the best formulations which are used in helping and improving the poultry industry. The GDP of Pakistan has improved over time, which has led to the creation of more substantial dairy productions and more robust local poultry growing and rearing. Soybeans import are being consumed by 90% by the poultry. On the other hand, dairy products have consumed nine %of the total produce.
The aquaculture industry is also contributing to increased soybean after introducing purposely soy-based aquaculture, .and again, the introduction of modern technologies and techniques has improved the industry.
The most critical factor in the growth of animal agriculture and the whole agricultural economy is a consistent supply of feeds, which is done by US soy. The poultry industry has conveyed the need and importance of producing substances with high protein yields, feeds rich in amino acids, and all the other elements in soybeans. This presents US soy to compete with others and has a bright future generally for the organization, (Khan, et al, 2020).

There are about 1.0 million tons in Pakistan of soymeal. All these have a net worth of 150M US$. This was the importation that was made for both livestock and poultry in 2014-15.3. The demand for soy meal and other products increased slightly too around 1.1 M. The feed industry in Pakistan has shifted the whole soybean grain and not soya meal as it was doing initially. A great need and a gap exist to meet the demand locally for the soybean and its products made from it. There is the neglect of crop in Pakistan, and this has caused declining of the area that was initially under Soyabean cultivation. There has been a development of 8 different varieties of Soyabeans that has been developed by researchers.
Some efforts have been made to commercialize soybean crops amongst the farmers, especially those that are cultivating Soyabean currently. This is in one way or another a way of motivating the farmers so that they can go in their old ways of growing soybeans on a large scale.
This has caused cultivation to increase to 5980 hectares during 1986-87. There is still an increased area that has been set aside for crops to be grown. Although it is at a small pace, at least the industry is growing though with different variations. When there is no coherent policy, soybean cannot be commercialized just like any other crop. The area currently under cultivation will continue to decline as days go by, (Tahir, et al, 2017).
