Overall, this article discusses the process and advantages of using wood over burning of fossil fuels for energy. The environmental issues involved are burning of fossil fuels, particularly coal. The burning of fossil fuels contributes to acid rain, air pollution and global warming. Section II The impact of the environmental issues identified in Section I on the community and society are global warming which causes super storms, impairs agricultural production, causes air pollution, including acid precipitation which impacts human and environmental health. The possible outcomes could be a decrease in the population of humans and nature and a limited food supply. We should be aware of this situation because although we might not see the effects of global warming or air pollution right now, these are problems that need serious solutions because in our life time we may begin to see more flooding, decreases in agriculture and increased respiratory problems. The solution for the future is the process of torrefaction.
