Key Nutrient Intake

For the Unit 4 Assignment, you will review your fat and carbohydrate intake based upon the food log created in Unit 3. The Assignment questions will assist you in analyzing the consumption of these nutrients as well as give you the opportunity to explain how these key nutrients are used in the human body.

Use the iProfile diet analysis software to create a PDF of the Intake Compared to DRI report. You will need to submit this along with the Unit 4 assignment template.

Review a tutorial on iProfile™ or review SC115 iProfile Instructions for written instructions to assist you with this assignment.

Address each of the following questions on the SC115 Unit 4 Assignment Template with complete sentences.

1. Based upon your reading/research, why do you need to include fat in your diet (at least three sentences)?


2. What happens in the human body when the intake of fat is less than your required intake (at least two sentences)?


3. What happens in the body when intake of fat exceeds your required intake (at least two sentences)?


4. Review your Intake Compared to DRI report from iProfile for total grams of fat.

Responses should be in complete sentences with capitalization of the first word of each sentence and appropriate punctuation at the end of the sentence. Include at least one academic source of information to support your personal opinions about fat and carbohydrate usage in the human body.
