Assignment 1

Make Powerpoint Presentation

Week 7 Discusison Board: Reaction/Reflection Video Response

Sociological analysis focuses on group interaction. Group descriptions are based on aggregated statistical data – but what is true of the group is not necessarily true of each individual within that group. All of us belong to ascribed groups which have become Mater Statuses, each of which Schaefer discusses in varying detail. In this video recorded Power Point presentation, students will consider their reaction to the textbook’s presentation of one group to which they belong. The successful presentation will include:

· Your initial reaction to the presentation of an ascribed group to which you belong

· An exploration of the process by which you intellectualized your feelings, and

· Some objective conclusions you’ve reached

By its nature, this project focuses on a subjective process (an explicitly introspective analysis), but the presentation should be as objective as possible, to explain that process to other students.

The goals are both to describe your reaction, and to present yourself as an individual, not just a member of the group(s) to which you belong.

Requirements:

· Create a Kaltura video of a Power Point presentation (The following tutorials (Links to an external site.) will help you create your video response

· The power point presentation should be comprised of approximately 4-6 slides, with 3-4 points on each.

· Additionally, include a Title slide and a Reference slide (at a minimum, as this is a reaction to Schaefer, his text should be cited).

· Upload your video as a discussion board response.

· Reply to at least two other students, preferably to those whose presentations reflect other group statuses than your own.

Assignment 2

Retake the same two implicit association tests you took in Week 1 from Harvard University’s Project Implicit (Links to an external site.)

Take screen grabs of the results and attach them as an appendix, along with the results from Week 1, at the end of the reflections paper.

Compare/contrast your results this time with those from Week 1

· Were there any differences?

· To what do you attribute the differences or lack of differences?

· Do your implicit associations match your conscious feelings any better than they did in Week 1?

· Critically reflect on the results and how you can apply them to your live and interactions with others.

You may want to re-read these non-academic links to put your results into better context:

· How does implicit bias influence behavior? (Links to an external site.)

· Is implicit bias a useful scientific concept? (Links to an external site.)

Write a 3-4 page paper reflecting on the comparative results of your two sets of implicit bias tests. Remember that if you use content from your first paper to cite yourself accordance with APA formatting. If you have any questions about how to do this, your instructor will be able to guide you.

For three decades, the firm had reinvented and revolutionized the circus. From its beginning in 1984, Cirque de Soleil had thrilled over 150 million spectators with a novel show concept that was as original as it was nontraditional: an astonishing theatrical blend of circus acts and street enter- tainment, wrapped up in spectacular costumes and fairy- land sets and staged to spellbinding music and magical lighting. Cirque du Soleil’s business triumphs mirrored its high- flying aerial stunts, and it became a case study for business school journal articles on carving out unique markets. But following a recent bleak outlook report from a consultant, a spate of poorly received shows over the last few years, and a decline in profits, executives at Cirque said they were now restructuring a - Iot based energy meter - Thistley hough academy uniform - Quotes from on the waterfront - Role and Scope DQ5 - The new colossus emma lazarus meaning - Cell organelle matching worksheet - Strategic plan part 1: new product or service - Enterprise application development ppt - Socrates philosophies prophecies of atrocities - Address sequencing in computer architecture - Js script inf trj - Supply Chain Management - Det nsw portal staff - Geo 2 - Scavenger hunt biology - Unit VIII Amercian Hystory - 495 week 2 replies - Bus 475 week 5 final exam - King george iii vs george washington - Week4 disc 1 6053 - All the lonely people where do they all come from - How to make a square in excel - Complete quickly as a test - Discussion question - What are the basic functions of money - Case Study - Marketing - Paper - Barr Virus - Final Research Project - Http pubs usgs gov gip volc types html - Factor label method worksheet with answers - Choosing a differentiation and positioning strategy - Discusses a contemporary global manufacturing issue related to Industrial & Systems Engineering. - Theoretical orientation to reading profile - Nurse esther listens to ms. lieberman's abdomen - In trapezium pqrs side pq parallel to sr - Nespresso segmentation - Acc review - One trial learning examples - Apple case analysis recommendations - 12 angry men act 2 - What does twit twoo mean - Alliteration for falling leaves - Utas apply for credit - Athlean x workouts free - Ldpe vs hdpe branching - Go diego go and dora
